Saturday the 14th! (Happy St. Valentine's Day!)

Post by LeoStarDragon1 »

Hello, Forumers! :)

The Poll System only allows for up to 12 choices. But to honor this holiday, I thought of this thread.

Part A: Which of the various NPCs would you like your avatar (player character) to be able to romance? Or maybe, that you yourself would like to romance if it were a holosuite?

Part B: Which of your own creations, would you most like to be, meaning, "look like", or maybe even have a romance with, if this were a holosuite?

Note: I use "holosuite" rather than "holodeck", so that we don't have to be on a ship, but can be on land.

As for my own choices, I'd have to ponder some more, as I've gotten used to "Fantasy Harem", where I don't have to settle for just one option. ;)
Shhh! Be very quiet! I may be sleep writing and sleep reading!

Maeva the Buxom - she's on the rebound, has a nice place in the country, and is attracted to adventuring types.

Else God-Hater or Falanu Hlaalu - what can I say, I dig creepy chicks.

EDIT: y'know, despite my somewhat shallow-sounding answer, it is kind of odd that romance is almost utterly absent in Oblivion, considering romantic sub-plots are a staple of the fantasy genre in general. I say almost because there are a couple romantic story lines, just no love interest for the player character. Here are all the romantic (and quasi-romantic) stories I can think of (SPOILER):
Spoiler
The story of Countess Umbranox and the Grey Fox is a classic romance. The situation between Ardaline and Varon Vamori might seem romantic (unless you've been stalked, in which case it's kind of disturbing). There's definitely a romantic angle to Arnora and Jorundr, albeit in a twisted, post-breakup, caper-gone-bad kind of way. You can try to play matchmaker for Pranal (the heavy armor master trainer) and Malene. Conversely, you can nip Dovesi Duran's interest in Primo Antonius in the bud in the DB whodunit quest.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

Hello, Belthan! :)

I'm not using "Quote" because that would expose your Spoiler!

But anyway, thank you very much for answering my survey even though it isn't made in the proper poll fashion and I forgot to add the "?" icon to identify it as such.

#00: Maeva the Buxom! Raise your hand if you were disappointed that she isn't more buxom than anyone else without using a mod to make her such! (*Raising my hand!*) I agree with your assessment! ;)

#01: Oh, maybe I'll stop the numbers for this reply as I think I have a lot to write about here. One time I had a character make friends with Else and even recruited her into his or her army, hoping to spare her the quest made conflict. They got along together just fine, but when she cast her spell to make her special armor appear, the rest of the people weren't as forgiving, and she got it in the end anyway. :( Making her Essential just made it an endless chain-reaction brawl. :( As for Falanu Haalu,
Spoiler
when you discover her back story, it is less like Steve Martin's movie "The Man with Two Brains" I think it is called, then it is more like, "The Ghost & Mrs. Muire". (Spelling?) Except that it is her husband that she is trying to bring back. At least thus far she has managed to avoid the curse of "The Monkey's Paw"!
#02: Oh, I made it fit anyway! Okay, the numbers continue. There's the sad case of.... "Nathe Dyer"? The floating corpse with the love letter. The elf in the magic shop who keeps the female one locked in his place until you free her, and then read the letters and notes on his desk! (At least for me, I'm forced to unlock the doors so I can buy the Frostcrag Spire stuff!) Yep! There's a lot of examples for sure. :)

#03: I've tried the "Marriage" mod, but I didn't like the divorce part. I've tried the "Damsels In Distress" mod, but they vanish when they leave the room once you've saved them. I've tried the "Sex with Guards" mod, but it never worked for sex, just the arrests. I've tried the "Romancing Eyja" mod, but didn't get too far before I had to start over because of conflicts. I tried a bordello mod, but it was incomplete. I'm using the "Prostitution" mod, but thus far the only one able to be a customer in the Topics options, was guy in prison for hiring the DB to kill Rufio. Apparently a cell-door doesn't prevent him from being able to penetrate your female PC. As there was a proper service fee, it wasn't a gift, so the guards didn't object! :p On the other hand though, that's about as close as one can get to the prisoner I'd imagine, but they still didn't object. I wonder if they merely watched. :p

#04: I was disappointed that the "Lover's Kiss Spell" didn't involve actual kissing.

#05: I was playing a male PC one time, and we were both disappointed that we couldn't do anything about Angelie's woes. I thought it was a game hint when she spoke about looking for a non-seaman, but nooooooooo! There's no, "Hey, how about me?"! option!
