i try

i try to equip these items to use them.. and they wont let me.. i got the one with the sword.. but the arrow and the sheild wont work for me.. and when i did the one with the sword.. and killed the big spider.. i didnt get anything for it.. didnt get a quest item

i am playing a single player game, and i have all the quests done but the nevers tomb quest.. the items that it says they need to open to doors.. ie.. the sheild and the arrow and whatnot.. dont seem to work.. is there anyone who can tell me what im doing wrong?
