Well, NWN 1 and 2 were both clear fat disappointments. Mask of Betrayal Expansion Pack was IMHO better.

True enough, bard doens't work. So no Bard level but sorcerer then for getting red disciple... And indeed you can't mix power attack with flurry of blows.

And circle kick is certainly a very useful feat! I remember that getting that feat made a big difference in the game.

Do you use the special abilities of the monk? If I recall correctly, I fairly often used the knockdown ability for instance combined with flurry of blows or power attack,
By the way, a popular combination of classes is Monk/Bard/Red Dragon Disciple as that prestige class gives some hefty bonuses on ...

Looking up 'mssmp3.asi' (just in google) does give some possible problems. The first hits are all about Call of Duty where someone has a problem with the same file. Apparently that might have to do with the version of the Miles audio files.

Yeah, pretty sure you'll like it. For me it feels a bit like a mixture of Kotor series and the BG ones. I can see why people compare it more to BG1 than BG2. It's the first time Bioware has used this (new) game setting and engine(?).

Another possibility could be that somebody finds the game too difficult, but likes the story so much it wants to finish the game.

You should be able to just copy the files from the CD's. It might indeed be the CD/DVD drive breaking, or the CD's are becoming too old. Maybe trying to clean them just with a cloth?

I've played mainly (A)DnD 2nd and 3rd edition (also as DM) and some Mage: the ascension. Has been quite some time ago though.

PsT is a RPG which for me really deserves to be played a couple of times to actually roleplay it. Don't try to squeeze every drop (or item :) ) out of it, play the character. Then you can play it many times. And I have played it only like 3 times or so. But I've installed it on one of those netbooks ...

I kinda like your reasoning, but I guess it's just a bug It indeed just doesn't fit in the typical cRPG mechanis.

Sorry, I'm afraid there's nothing similar to PsT. So yes, I've accepted that, and can still enjoy some other RPGs. One you might like is Vampire Bloodlines, and maybe Arcanum. That's about all I can think of.
