I'm definitely pleased that there will be a proper expansion - I dislike the DLC trend, even if means that I can get 5 2hour long DLCs instead of one 10hour long expansion (for the same money) I still prefer the later since it 'feels' more like 'a new game' rather than a 'professional mod'. I hope ...

I wouldn't call 'getting around bugs' cheating though...
That's pretty much a necessity which has nothing to do with giving yourself an 'unfair' advantage that lowers the intended challenge of the game.

If someone asked me why I cheat in games I think the best answer I could give is: " Because! "

Though I rarely cheat and mostly in adventures if I'm more 'stuck' than I'd like. I agree that it does spoil the game... once I've cheated I start loosing interest so I avoid doing it (or maybe ...

Haha... no one can compete with dinosaur comics... not possible :D

But the great thing about that comic is that it shows that your work can be brilliant if you play smart with what you have. Because it's not just that that guy couldn't draw - which sounds like a very bad thing if you want to make ...

I personally think that you approach the whole issue the wrong way:
First you need to develop your idea into a story worth reading - or to support a long succession of strips if you're going for that.

Any necessity for explicit content will then reveal itself naturally on its own - ie. your comic ...

Although I don't remember Wynne's story let me note that definitely not everyone at Ostagar was wiped out. A lot of people obviously survived - specifically those who where under Loghain's command, and that should have been a considerable amount.

I just finished playing and I can say I'm really impressed...
I'm generally a fan of more true 'deeper' RPGs, and in fact I tried to play this game twice before and I just quited after an hour or so out of pure lack of interest. But the third time's the charm etc... and this time I persisted and ...

While it might not be "critical", traps and locks are pretty important.

Both add a fairly substantial XP gain.

Removing Traps can be pretty important if your characters don't have a very high physical resistance (..and most don't).

Traps OFFENSIVELY can be exceedingly worthwhile. In fact, a ...

Deft Hands etc are TALENTS not SKILLS.

And theres definitely no shortage of uses for Talents.
Oh... right that's true. My mistake.
I suppose I forgot because I maxed it early anyway (I was expecting a lot more traps than I found and more interesting stuff locked inside chests - unfortunately ...

What are you going to do with all the unassigned skillpoints though?
I don't know what to spend them on anymore and I never failed picking a lock or stealing...
Maybe it's a bit tougher if your main character is the party's only rogue - since (s)he's the only one that makes any sense spending points ...

For story alone -plot, setting, writting etc.- I would recommend the Witcher (enhanced edition,as I understand it's translation was horrid before that). It's not as 'open' as PS:T and the plot didn't impress me that much at first, but the setting is superb and when everything falls into place it's ...

I just got to that part today, and I'd like to note that it was a pretty nasty dilemma because even though I talked to everyone, I didn't get any real clue, other than a couple of obscure and irrelevant opinions, of what each candidate stands for. Eventually I picked Harrowhatever just because his ...

I'd say it is "urgent" that some random stranger pops out of nowhere and kills your foster father and tries to kill you.
If you have any idea who he is or how to find him.
Otherwise urgent or not you have to search blindly - in which case wandering around doing random quests in hope that you'll ...

In BG-series the game directs you very clearly along a path but fail to "impose" an urgency.
I'd just like to say that of all the RPGs I've played, I consider BG1 to have the best exposition of plot. There's no urgency because initially you don't set out to save the world but just you go to find ...

Well not really - there's very little connection NwN1 does not hold any candle to DA:O in any area except multiplayer possibility.

I found that NWN had better feedback in battles. I don't like that they removed that message window they used. It's hard to keep track on what's going on in the game ...

I wasn't able to finish Syberia without a walkthrough though. Adventure games have that effect on me ever since I first played Gobliiins. Since there are Adventure games included here I'd like to drop a vote for Syberia which hasn't been mentioned. It's one of the extremely few games that I'd call mature with a straight face - there isn't any violence, strong language, nudity etc. in it naturally, because none is necessary, but the ...

I 'd say that was a (pretty gutsy) marketing trick that worked because Dragon Age is a good game and because there are more similarities between them than differences.

Technically though I think that DA is as much of a spiritual successor to BG2 as NWN, regardless of quality, if only for the ...
