That did the trick, in fact two Diaytha show up (???) so I got two shields +4.

Nope, don't remember getting a +4 shield. If whacking all the spiders doesn't get her to appear my only hope would be CLUA (I haven't played with that).

Ugh...I was afraid of that. Starting over doesn't appeal to me at this point. I don't recall fighting Dyaitha on the stairs, but I could be mistaken. I may have to shelf this game for a while.

That room is very empty...except for some mangled bodies. Is Dyaitha suppose to re-appear after you clear out those two rooms? Come to think of it, there may be some spiders left over...I may have to go back to finish them off.

I'm stuck in Sendai's Enclave. After defeating the Lich, Spiders and Slaves. I've finished off the Earth Elementals in the room to the right, then I went over to kill the Dark Knight's and the Beholder in the room to the left.
