Eastframe sums it up very well. I must admit to liking the first one better though. But as Eastframe said, I do kinda want a fighting game with combat mechanics from a PnP :) Even so, I didn't let that stop me and I can't say I didn't enjoy playing it. It's just as with Mass Effect one and two. The ...

I would go for sword and shield for the first playthrough. It gives you a big advantage in defense.
Shields can block attacks from animals as well as from humanoids using weapons. And later when you get training with swords/axes you can use twohanders in one hand.
The trick is just to keep your ...

You can start with whatever you like. And later on you can just change from swords to magic if that's what you want. The only thing that restricts you in any way is when you choose health, mana or stamina at each levelup.

My mistake was starting as a mage picking mana each level. And then later on ...

Try and purchase the house and see if she turns up? After all it is a really convenient house. Being close to the smithy and the exit.

I agree with Scottg. Brandon Sanderson writes very good books. The way of Kings is the first in a series that's supposed to be like 10 books or something. If you don't plan on following the series as it's written, or don't want a book that's too long. I would suggest a triology he's already written ...

I've already pre-ordered. I plan on playing with a few buddies of mine. We'll see how that goes :) Though they say they've made it convenient for four players to go through missions.

I don't like the cartoonish style of the game. And would prefer the more "realistic" look that Galaxies went for in ...

OOO can indeed have some frustrating battles. There's a method you can use to kill almost anything regardless of level. It only works if the target can't heal itself or if you keep it from healing.
Get the monster or whatever to pursue you and then head to the nearest door to another level or the ...

As mentioned it's hard to find good sci-fi rpgs. Though it seems like you enjoy other games as well so I'll mention a few you didn't name in your list.

The Gothic series. At least Gothic 1&2. And if you like those you can move on to Risen.
There's also The Witcher 1&2. I've only played the first ...

Dragons usually got the spell "Contingency" running. This spell triggers when certain conditions are met. They could be: "when the caster reaches 50% health cast improved invisibility on self" The conditions and spells cast can be modified by the caster.

I'm not absolutely sure about this, but I ...

Armourclass does not reduce damage, only how often they manage to hit you. Only resistances helps against the amount of damage recieved on each hit.

Having a tough fight with a fighter/close combat enemy can be handled with a bit of clever movement and use of the "aggro" system as you put it.
In ...

If you go into options you can change the controls from the default gothic to the slightly improved gothic 2 controls. This will at least allow you to make an attack with simply one mouse clic.

As for the movement "issues" you talk about, it's just a matter of getting used to. There's no way of ...

I'm currently playing Jagged Alliance 2(try it out if you like the x-com series). I'm also trying out Heroes of Newerth, a game base on the DOTA custom map for Warcraft 3.

I also play Mount&Blade on and off, so I'll mention that as well. And at last, I just started again on Oblivion after the "100 ...

You could always try the Wizardry series. I think it ended on Wizardry 8 but I don't know if the games are connected storywise. It's kinda like Might&Magic only leaning more to the RPG side.

Bard song

Hi

I've been wondering if I should play as a bard. But I can't find any information on the bard song. I know the Skald is supposed to weaken enemies and the Bard strengthen allies, but not more than that. Do anyone know any specifics or can point me towards any?

Thanks
