Yes, I've patched, and I even bought the expansion before finishing the OC.
You're right though, I didn't get a cutscene after felling the big oaf. Should have recognized that something was wrong but, well, I never played that part before.

In the meantime, I've tried ...

So I fought the fire giant king and laid waste to his forces and took out the dragon (which was HARD) but now when I go to leave it tells me I can't leave without the belt of ironfist... Which I have in my pack!!! I've even tried wearing the thing. I've also tried loading from an earlier save and ...
