it doesn't give me the attack option when I mouse over the pillers, only the activate option, the only way I can hurt the pillers is with magic missiles and acid arrows and other such spells

I'm stuck on the last big guy, is there any way I can attack the pillars with normal weapons (my melee fighters) as opposed to only magical attacks (magic missiles, ammon jerro, etc)?

How do I create the bridge in act 3 after finding the 4 logs?

After trying to get the lizarmen to ally with me, after the fight, I'm stuck. I can't leave the fight area and get back into town to move on, what do I do?
