Solved my problem. Turned out my power supply couldn't push enough juice. So, rather than get another power supply, I got a new computer. http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif

This problem sounds very familiar. I've also encountered similar problems like this in quite a number of games I've played. I do know of two tips on how to solve this crash issue:

1) Try switching the compatibility mode to Windows 98.

2) Try to lower your sound acceleration from the DxDiag menu ...
