Your suggestion solved the "problem". It should have been obvious to me, but I guess I was inclined to think there must be an actual problem. Thanks for your help.

After I completed the Vahtacen quest, I found about 1/3 of the spells that were in my inventory no longer appeared in the list. I suspect this is related to my battles with the wraiths and the spells they cast. How do I regain access to all my spells? I did try praying in a church; but the blessing ...
