Can you not change your screen rez? That may help, or play the game in window mode.
Windowed mode at 800x600 sort of works. What's really annoying is that before I upgraded to DX 8.1, it worked fine.
Thanks for the tip!

Greetings;
Not sure if anyone can help out or not. I'm having a bit of a problem with screen resolution for BGI:TOTSC. Seems that its stuck in 640x480 mode, which cuts off about the last 1/2 inch or so on the bottom of my monitor.
I've: removed DX8.1 (which is what caused this, I think) and ...

Greetings all,
I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this one; I upgraded to DX 8.1 and upgraded my ATI 128 drivers to accommodate a different game.
When I went back to BG:TOTSC, I noticed that the bottom 1" of the screen is cut off; the bottom character's portrait is partially missing and ...

LOL...thanks for quoting it to me! Too bad its so long or it would make a *great* sound byte for a BG soundset (with myself recording it, of course)...hmmm, perhaps a battlecry? Nah; some battle are over in seconds.

Hmmm...Well, one of the developers of D&D and one of the major people at what used to be TSR Hobbies was James Ward. Hey, even if I'm wrong it's fun speculating.

Like I said...'D'oh!'...now I just need to answer the warrior warder. The one who gabbles on about the 'warrior's fate'... I read someplace else that it deals with a gem. I thought I had it, but now it's gone. Is it in one of those piles of gems and jewelry? Betcha I go, 'D'oh!' again! <G>

Well, since my last post we're now in Durlag's Tower. Very spooky. *SPOILER* Our guide gets wiped by a Death Knight. Whoa! Coolness!
Our average level is around 7th or so. I have Myself (8th lvl Ranger), Imoen (8th level Ill, 6th lvl thief), Jaheira (Ftr/Druid..I think she's 7/6 or 7/7), Whathisname ...

The conversation with Mr. Shade is actually pretty funny if you get him going long enough. When you finally tell him that you've just been playing along, he takes the Golden Pantaloons that you've held onto since Chapter 1.
Now, here's the question; should I let him take'em or should I hang onto'em ...

Well, I may head out of the city and head for Ulgroth's Beard just for the heck of it. I'm trying to get Imoen up in Illusionist so that she can go back to thieving...argh.

Seems to me that happened to me as well at one point when I was first playing the game. I'd uninstalled the game, then reinstalled it at another time without ToTSC, went to the coordinates and couldn't find it. Makes me wonder if it's a registry entry of some sort?

I'm sure people thought I was going to vent off or something. Sorry to disappoint you, folks. But I remember when I first played the game, I was in an area where I came across some old guy talking weird nonsense and then the main character basically vents his spleen big-time. In playing through this ...

Greetings and salutations once again!
I'm in the wood/area where the Red Wizards hang out. (big altar, interrupted rites, etc.)Found a druid/cleric whose 'scroll of wisdom' had been stolen by a tasloi. Found two tasloi who tried to waylay me. No scroll. Pretty much searched just about everywhere ...

Just a question of curiousity; I loaded all of BG1 and TotSC at the same time and I'm going through it. I've noticed the stuff that got added when TotSC came out, but wonder; do I wait for 'hints' to go visit these areas or do I just go visit them at leisure?
Thanks!

I dunno; I remember finding a Wand of Magic Missle early in the game and it petering out not long after. I've since found another one, given it to Dynaheir, whom I have use when she runs out of the spell. I think there *are* charges for the wands.
Now here's a conundrum; in the AD&D rules I ...

Well, I did manage to lose him in Nashkel, by doing as suggested. After I rescued Dynaheir, went back to Nashkel and tried to bring him back; no go. Clicked on him and all he did was make his noises at me. And before anyone asks, yep, I did a reform the party thing and still no go. *sigh* S'okay ...
