I bought my computer for http://www.ibuypower.com and I just wanted to know if my computer would come already assembled or if I would have to do it myself. If any of you have bought from there or know someone who has let me know. Thanks.

Yeah, I talked with a sales associate where I bought my computer and he said the 6600 with 256 has some type of majorly outdated memory. I don't remember what he called it. But he said the 6800 GS would be a much better choice. I'm pumped now. I can run Oblivion with all the settings enabled. Hoorah ...

I took your advice and upgraded to a 6800 GS. It was only $100 more and definitly worth it. It think the 6600 would have run it well, but this is a better choice. Thanks for the input.

It's true that the 6600 is only a mid-range card, but Bethesda states in their forum from their official website that card will allow me to fully enjoy Oblivion. I know that doesn't mean that I will have all settings on high, but your assumption that I will be lucky if I can run the game on medium ...

I can get this comp for about $1000. Is this a good computer or not? I have heard that Athon is way better than Pentium but I don't know a whole lot about it. If this is a good system, will it run oblivion well?

AMD® Athlon-64 4000+ CPU w/ Hyper Transport Technology

Okay, here is a question fro you guys. I currently am running a Pentium 4, 1.25 gig of ram, and a geforce fx 5500 (hate this card.) My motherboard is PCI. I want to upgrade my video card. What kind of card could I get that would be better than the one I have but still PCI compatible? If you guys ...

What did you mean by "PCI graphics cards are for the most heavily budgeted of users?"

So do they make the Geforce 7800 GT that works in a PCI slot or are they all PCI Express. If so, that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. That means that unless you have the PCIe slot you can only get like a geforce 5500 which I already have (which already sucks) I know that they are coming ...

PCI vs PCIe

Here is a question for you guys. Does a PCI Express graphics card require a different slot than just a PCI card? I am in line to get a new GPU but I don't know if I can run a PCIe in a PCI slot. Any thoughts.

By the way, what kind of GPU do you have, I think I'll need to get a new one personally.

I'm with you on a gig of ram. When I first heard that Oblivion would be hitting shelves soon I started upgrading my pc. I heard from Game Stop that it is supposed to hit stores on March 21st. I hope it is sooner than that but oh well, it's worth waiting for.

256 mb of ram is the system requirements for "Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind." There is no way on earth you could run "Oblivion" with that amount of ram. 512 is a definite possibility, but let me say that I don't think it's too far fethced to expect 1 gig recommended requirements. Yeah it might run on ...

It is tough to say what the minimum requirements will be. I would bet that you wouldn't be able to run the game well without 1 gig of ram. And the equivalent to a geforce 7800. You never know.

System Requirements

Here is the thing that we need to remember about Oblivion's system requirements. Bethesda wants to market this game to a wide range of consumers. If they make a game that is only playable on supercomputers then people who have an average system will not purchase the game. I ...
