I agree mostly with Silvanerian.
A pure fighter, mage, cleric or thief would be the "logical" hero.
A paladin is a bit difficult. As you learn in "Shadows of Amn" most paladins start as a squire in an order. I don't think that anyone of the inhabitants of Candlekeep knows much knighthood, strong ...

1) Sell the item (magic wand) to a merchant and buy it back. It is recharged.
2) Other items have a couple of charges once a day. Use them, sleep 8 hrs and voilá they are recharged.

but it makes no fun if your are around level 13 or 14 (or higher) and all you get is a +1 or +2 weapon.
Think about it, you are a mighty hero, you find a weapon, identify it and then: "Oh wonderful, I've found a +1 longsword, mace etc., now I'm going to kill that old red dragon ...

1. I don't remember very good but she tells you to keep her pregnancy as a secret (or something).

"Protection from magic" or "Protection from undead"-scrolls will help.

Press the "TAB"-key. All doors are marked. During my first walkthrough I missed the second half of the key, too.

Not really a movie but the epilogue texts of all your companions. When I first read them a shiver ran down my neck.

Viconia has lost all her spell capabilities after her escape from Underdark. She started to whorship a new goddess, Shar, and so is "cursed" by Lolth. So is understandable that she is as weak as an child.

Look at "Baldur's Gate 2" section of Gamebanshee. Everything is explained in the walkthrough.

Nashkell belongs to Amn (you meet Amnish soldiers there, just talk to them).

I think it's Beregost that has a mayor from Baldur's Gate.

1. Dispel the blade barrier (pierce magic or dispel magic spells).
2. Keep the bone swords busy with Mordenkainen's Swords (they cannot be killed)
3. Attack the Ravager with your magically enhanced fighters, and keep your weaker memebers backside.
This way I killed with only a few injuries.
