My calculation was that 1 feat improves the fortitude saves for one character by 10 percent so you can expect 0.1 characters less failing their saving throw. For 2 characters less to fail their fortitude save you need 20 feats since 20*0.1=2.

Having 17 instead of 15 in one of the 3 saving throw ...

I can see where you're coming from, the Saving Throw bonuses can appear quite puny, but also can make quite a big difference if your character is particularly lacking in one specific area, it suits my OCD for equalised stats and can sometimes be the difference between 5 stunned characters and just ...

About feats I disagree a little with LastDanceSaloon, I don't think saving throw improvement feats are worth it, the benefits are too low considering how seldom you have to make saving throw rolls. I wouldn't bother with feats which add only skillpoints either and improved initiative doesn't work ...

magisensei, I apologize for my remark about powergaming. I was just surprised that you suddenly switched to a party with heavy multiclassing after your rant in your first post. Bard11/sorcerer19 is a build you can find in powergaming guides for example but this requires cheating your character level ...

Answers

1) Clerics can cast in armor.
2) The BAB from the different classes is added together, so a bard11/sorcerer4 gets 8+2=10 BAB for example.
3) The number of ranged attacks per round you get is just like the number of melee attacks per round you get, it increases as your BAB increases. You ...

IWD2 is definitely worth playing. The powergaming guides you read are thought experiments about what the most powerful combination would be if you cheat your party up to level 30, not about how to play the game.

Be aware that there are no items or spells which set attributes to a fixed value, so ...

Starting out is not too difficult if you know how.
You can get 3600 Quest XP without fighting anything, the bugs in the cellar yield additional 140 combat and 1,200 quest XP, kill 4 goblins (they can be lured away and fought one by one) and you're level 3.
The sleep spell (scroll found behind Pomab ...

Don't worry about what might happen in the future, just continue playing your game. If you get into trouble you can still ask for help then.

You don't need mage armor, you have shield, you don't need haste, you have mass haste. You don't need both protection from evil and magic circle against evil. Emotion: Hope is worth taking for the HP and damage bonus, definitely more useful than malison. Since your enemies get 50 percent outright ...

If you're going to dual 2 warriors to cleric I recommend dualing the paladin later at level 13 or so. You just don't need two clerics that early. If the main cleric gets unconscious even a level 1 paladin can bring him/her back and if (s)he dies you'll have to reload anyway since level 7 spells like ...

Unless you are going to grind a lot it's not worth waiting with dualing to magic-user too long. Ranger15/MU might get +5 to hit (which won't matter too much since barely any monster has negative AC) and an extra half melee attack per round (the number of ranged attacks per round is unaffected by ...

Congratulations for winning the final battle, it's quite hard without using the dust of disappearance (which casts the level 3 mage spell blink on all party members).

May I ask what your glorious party was at the end of the game (classes , levels, hitpoints) ?

It's not worth fighting the beholders, there's no reward involved, it's just an additional crazy challenge if you are bored, you can get XP far easier by exploring the optional dungeons or fighting other respawning stuff.

Just rush to chapter 4 and get Yeslick. This way you can have 20 reputation without complaints. Faldorn is also an interesting character.

Do you have ToB installed ?

Swash (10) => Mage uses the bad mage thac0, only getting +2 to hit and damage from the swashbuckler side, he'll be even worse than your blade.

If you want to do serious physical damage you need warrior levels for extra attacks per round, mages and bards can cheese ...

No, it isn't required. It only affects the game difficulty. If you're experienced and like hard battles you might even consider the game too easy with a min-maxed party.

In CotAB there's only one location where you get an extra option for having a thief (climb up and look) and all you get is an useless hint. The power of thieves (and especially fighter/thieves) is backstabbing and doing lots of damage this way.

Generally 95 skill can be considered perfect if critical failures are possible, 100 if the skill doesn't allow critical failures and if there are additional difficulty modifiers (they are only confirmed for pickpocketing) you can benefit from even higher skill.

About 90 in picking locks and ...

2 attacks per round are normal for a character with 7-12 fighter levels.

There's a character editor called shadow keeper which can be used to reassign proficiency points and doing other stuff.

Be aware that you can assign new proficiency points at fighter level 9 and mage level 6,12,18,... and ...
