Of course, importantly, you can always go light side and have your NPCs take the dark side powers. Yes, I know it uses up more force but realistically, its only a tiny bit! I had jolee and juhani with wave and storm and my main character as a full-on light master!
And you still get to feel all good ...

OK having completed the game since my first post :) I can now conclude.
Skills are actually VERY good. And I know no-one else thinks so. But it means you can have a 3 jedi party for most of the game and still use your skills.
Cases in point.
1. There are droids in the game you can repair for over ...

Heh, I would think it depends. From a role-playing view I would have a solider-consular for dark side, and a scout-consular for light side. In terms of abilities, no difference. I suspect that a scout is in fact the best, but depends on your style of play - if you're gonna run round revelling in ...

Another suggestion is to try to disable him - stasis, concussion grenades etc. Or even just three thermal detonators under him :)
Seriously though, I had trouble occasionally with "boss" jedi even at medium levels because occasionally they go on crazy draining sprees and immense force use. Then ...

Hehe, thought so. Still might go scout for kicks though, figure i can use skills to get xp and blow stuff up. And i suppose if i am skilled then my companions dont have to be, meaning i can take tanks.

SKills - how useful are they REALLY?

Just want to know what you think, is it worth putting points in intelligence to get more skills as say, a scout? I have just received the game, so I'm wondering if skills are actually useful or if most of them are a waste of time (like so many other games). I dont really like playing as a "fighter ...

I found a fighter 4/druid x was good... If you want a ranger i suppose you can do the same thing... ranger 2 or 3/druid x. You dont need to go very high with ranger class becuase you wouldn';t need the ranger spells, just druid ones!

Sounds fairly good... in my party i took a Rogue 1/Wizard x because with the high intelligence you can cope with the traps and locks no problems. I think with the monk extras you are going to be struggling - you need str, dex, con, int and char so you're gonna have to compromise in terms of power ...
