More Nordom Problems!!

Post by CannibalBob »

I got back to Rubikon and killed the Evil Wizard AGAIN and actually spoke to him about the creative director. Now I was able to make Nordom do some tasks. But I can't seem to make him get "full healing" and some others. My intelligence, wisdom and charisma are all high (int=22 or 23) wis=22 or 21 and cha=25 (can get up to that with spells). But I still can't get him to say more, like the full healing one. Are my stats too high?

On gamebanshee it says,
"# If your intelligence is greater than 15, ask him how he ended up in Rubikon. Explain to him that his separation from the source has caused his change in perspective for 36000 experience, +1 intelligence, +1 constitution for Nordom, and full healing for Nordom. There are only two upgrade phases for Nordom: the one you are mentioning -- but I know nothing about 'full healing". First time I heard that.

As for the second upgrade, this is +1 Intelligence, +1 Dexterity, plus 36,000 exprerience for you. It can be done if you talked with the Wizard and you learned from him that he had disintegrated the previous Director of the Rubikon. Telling Nordom about it and adding that you are the new Director makes him somehow happy, and thus the second upgrate.

However, in my second time through the game, for some strange reason, the dialogue about telling him I am the new Director didn't pop up. :(

So... Gamebanshee is... lying? It says under the conversations section->Nordom: "# If your intelligence is greater than 15, ask him how he ended up in Rubikon. Explain to him that his separation from the source has caused his change in perspective for 36000 experience, +1 intelligence, +1 constitution for Nordom, and full healing for Nordom. ".

The way you put that, it sounds as though it might mean Nordom is simply healed completely on the spot of any wounds.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

No, I didn't say that. I simply said what I know by my own experience through the game, and what I have learnt by other people's discusion on this forum. As I said, this is my second time through the game, I am not an expert.

Oh, I forgot to tell that both times I have been playing as a Mage. So, I take back that "only two upgrade phases" bit, it must be wrong. Apparently, Nordom's upgrade depends on your --NO's that is-- class.

Also: fable is right, that's what I firstly understood by "full healing"; but coming to think of it again, I believe full healing means ending Nordom's confusion and disorganised state he had been before your conversation.

If I am wrong, please someone correct me.

Dialogue:

Nameless One: ""I'm curious, Nordom... how did you end up in Rubikon?"

Nordom: "...Hypothesis: Lack of Director, plus Exposure to Plane (chaos) resulted in perspective of /Nordom/ to deviate from norm."

Nameless One: "..."Do think your separation from the Source is what caused your perspective shift from that quieter, broader 'one' to the smaller, louder 'one?'"

Result:

AddExperienceParty(36000)PermanentStatChange ("Nordom", INT, Raise, 1)PermanentStatChange ("Nordom", CON, Raise, 1)FullHeal ("Nordom")

New Journal Entry:

Had a repeat of that stabilizing incident with Nordom, similar to when I told him I was the new Creative Director - when I told Nordom that it was probably his separation from the Source that caused his change in perspective, he seemed to become even more stable. I think maybe helping Nordom realize *what* happened to him helped him become even more 'focused.' His separation from the Source may have been a greater shock to his system than I realized.

Apparently, "FullHeal" means that Nordom is restored to full hit points if he was wounded. I don't know what else it could mean.

Earlier in the same dialogue, the Nameless One can ask Nordom, "What was this field test?"

Nordom replies that during the third field test, the former Creative Director was "scouting perimeters of Rubikon (Difficult) Dungeon construct to determine: Variances. Many deviations detected: errors considerable." Nordom gives a low whine and shuts his eyes with a *klik.* "Director of 'Create' not return from field test." If you ask him what happened, Nordom continues, "Citing/Rubikon Wizard/Megalomaniac Declaration of Freedom: Creative Director encountered Error: Rubikon Wizard. Hypothesis: Director discounted strength of error. Sought to correct aberrance in Rubikon Wizard. Result: Director = Nulled." In other words, the Evil Wizard was creating disturbances in the Rubikon, and when the Creative Director investigated, the Evil Wizard killed him. The Creative Director had underestimated the Evil Wizard's strength.

If the Nameless One responds, "Actually, Nordom, Rubikon still has a Director - me," then Nordom becomes more "stable".

Action:

AddExperienceParty(36000)PermanentStatChange ("Nordom", INT, Raise, 1)PermanentStatChange ("Nordom", DEX, Raise, 1)

New Journal Entry:

Had a repeat of that stabilizing incident with Nordom, similar to when I told him that his separation from the Source may have caused his shift in perspective - when I told Nordom that I was the new Creative Director of Rubikon, he seemed to become even more stable. I think maybe establishing a new chain of command for Nordom helped him become even more 'focused.' Maybe the loss of the Director unhinged him more than I knew.

I don't know what the online walkthroughs have to say about this. I simply looked at the dialogue using Infinity Explorer.

Ok, in order to get the upgrade you want, you need to know about the Source first. Ask him about Mechanus (Note that if Morte and Grace are nearby during that conversation it won't work. Just make sure at least one of them is out of range.).

And Aubrey, there are more than two upgrades, including one for each class TNO can be...

I thought so.

So, it was wise of me to take that bit back, after all. Thanks, Platter.
