Namechange alert!
As some of you may have noticed, I asked Buck to change my username. I am no longer Asriel, but Yeltsu.
The reason for this is that I find Asriel to be way too serious and impersonal. Asriel is the name of an angel (as some of you might know) something I didn't know when I chose the name. When I found out what Asriel meant I began to feel quite uncomfortable about it.
Yeltsu is a far more personal for me name then Asriel. The story of that name goes like this:
One of my friends sent me this SMS once: "Yeltsu climed a glacier." When I asked who Yeltsu was I got no reply. When I later asked her (in person) about the messege, she said she had made a mistake, the original message was "We just climed a glacier" however, she had forgot to put in a space between "we" and "just." She had also pressed button nr. 8 one time to many at the end of the word "just" something which had produced the word "Yeltsu".
Being on top of a glacier, she had been unable to reply to my message since her cellphone only frequently had a signal.
After that I have used this name almost every place where usernames are requiered.
After I read that maxi had changed his name, I started thinking about changing mine too, before that, I didn't know it was possible to change one's username.
I just thought I would let people know to avoid confusion....
Tsk tsk tsk @ all the namechanging going on.
Indeed. When I was young, we didn't have names. We had rocks. Each rock had a different shape and size, and if you wanted your identity changed, you said, "Hey, somebody throw me a rock!" And they did, usually several at once. That's why we didn't have many people changing identities.
Youngin's. Hmpf.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
I'd say Buck has better things to do.

Totally agree with Rob-hin. Anyway, what's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet etc.
not if we called them "stench-blossoms"
The question is then, would we redefine what we mean by "stench", or would we experience the smell of the rose as stinking due to our pre-formed conceptualisation of "stench"?

Well, seeing as the word 'stench' is more often than not associated with a foul (or is that fowl?
) smell, one would assume that the name would be based upon said smell.
But then, perhaps the one who christened it was allergic to the flower, and abhored, what to everyone else was pleasant, the smell.
Can we call it 'Fun-dingus'?
I've always wanted to call something 'Fun-dingus'.
Agreed, let's call it "Fun-dingus", that's as good as anything.
Here, a bouquet of Fun-dingus(es?) for you

Well, technically, the original topic has been said and done, and the thread has taken natural progression towards a discussion on whether or not the name changes the object.
*Ahem*
Also, I'm not a mod for SYM. Therefore, it's my duty to keep the SYMian Mods on their toes. It's a tough job, but I think I can handle it.
hmm... I think the plural should be 'Fun-dingi', and why thank you, Love

LOL, it is on topic - name changes, the thread starter has announced his name change, and the thread is not marked with "no spam". So we are conforming perfectly to the rules.

In fact, we are doing more than having fun with spam. We are fulfilling our Duty as SYMer's to spam this thread!
For every topic that neglects the No Spam marker, I am there!
For every off-topic discussion, I am there!
For every indecent, alcholic reference associated with a Fish, I am there!
For you see, I am Aegis, and I am the Spamming Mod!
(Pause for applause)
Thank you.
