If I were to tell you that my favourite were (in no order):
Morrowind
Oblivion
Neverwinter Nights 2
VtM: Bloodlines
What would your recommend for me? I don't think I would like Baldurs Gate 2, because I didn't like Diablo; the repetitiveness gets to me. I really like the way you can become totally immersed in a story line. But I still haven't tried BG2, so I don't know.
And I didn't like Fable; again too plain.
Thanks

No offense, but saying you don't think you'll like BG2 because you didn't like Diablo is like saying you don't think you'll like Lord of the Rings because you don't like romance novels. The two are unrelated. Diablo is an action game. BG2 is a roleplaying game, with considerable depth of character from party members, a host of unique challenges, and a remarkable series of quests. Where in Diablo do you get to solve a murder mystery based on clues and conversations? Do you take along a party of NPCs with you in Diablo? Do they ever in turn take over the answering of important questions from you, and make decisions for you? Do their differences ever rise to the point that they start attacking one another? Can you change the morality and attitude of a party member in Diablo, during extensive dialog? Do you have more than a dozen simultaneous quests in Diablo? Are there humorous episodes and characters? How complex and varied are the challenges you face, and do they ever involve figuring out puzzles, answering questions, etc, rather than simply fighting?lifeishell91 wrote:What would your recommend for me? I think you'll find that BG2 is in fact towards one end of the computer roleplaying spectrum, the one that focuses on storytelling, character development, and immersiveness.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I'll ask the same question.
I've played the Gothics, Baldur's Gate II + SoA, both KotORs, NWN and NWN2, Planescape, Arcanum, Bloodlines and Redemption, TES III and IV, both Fallouts of course, started Fable, but that sort of sucked. I've most likely forgotten a bunch.
I also have Icewind Dale I/II in my drawer at the moment, but I just can't bring myself to play them. I refuse to use the stock groups and I can't bring myself to create one as well. That takes too much knowledge and I my OCD prevents me from creating a group full of hacks.
Any suggestions? Couple of great games coming soon, but they're already on the list.

When you compare a game to Oblivion, God kills a kitten.
