hi
im kind of new to the rpg universe and would like some recommendations please.
The rpgs i have played thus far from best to worst is
bloodlines
redemption.
kotor II
kotor I
guild wars
oblivion.
i prefer more dark or adult themed rpgs (as you can see from the vamp games being my favourite) and it is really important that it has a great interesting storyline like bloodlines (till the end). i hate games like oblivion and guild wars. i find those huge universe games extremely boring and pointless. I also hate "stupid" puzzles like those in kotor I & II. Some of the puzzles there are a joke. a 3 year old could do them. Well basically im looking for an RPG with a super immersful storyline with puzzles where you need an IQ of at least 65 to accomplish (unlike kotor series) and if possible a game which has something like the bloodlines character sheet (although i can make my peace with that). hope this is coherant. Also it has to be on PC.
thank you very much!
rpg recommendations.

If you don't mind 2D RPGs, you definitely want to try Planescape: Torment. It's dark-themed, the puzzles are intelligent ones, and the writing and storyline is the best ever placed in an RPG.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Don't know if the Baldur's Gate series or the Fallout series will suit you but they're pretty decent games. You could also try out Fable: The Lost Chapters but it doesn't have a dark theme (but there are some scenes that are slightly on the adult side, I think).
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Just reread what you want, and if you like Dark Storylines or turn based combat, you *might* like Shadow Hearts: Covenant and Shadow Hearts: From The New World, but when it comes to the second one, it's doubtful.
Planescape and Baldur's Gate II are the best for older RPGs that you can try. Or you can wait for Hellgate: London, or The Witcher. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic was alright, it's a good RPG, although I wasn't the most impressed with it. Anachronix or Arx Fatalis might fit your choices, but both are buggy and are not the best of games.
I'd go with Planescape the most there, though.
