Welcome to GameBanshee
As far as I know, the game is still under development, and if speaking truth I'm not expecting it to come out during 2007...
Best way to stay tuned on the development is either read the threads here (I'm trying to post new info there as soon as I get some...), check Bethesda's website regulary as well as http://www.nma-fallout.com.

How do you even know what does Fallout 3 looks like since all they have shown at E3 is just some poster with the title 'Fallout 3' written on it?

Probably davidw89 has seen the pictures of "Van Buren"...
That's quite common mistake, since those are, after all, pictures of Fallout 3... just not the Fallout 3 what Bethesda is developing...

The release date - Fact or rumour???
I spotted this today in http://www.nma-falout.com

:speech:www.nma-fallout.com news wrote: After a tip from Cooper, we followed a short trail of sendaround that all indicated they got it from another source; Cooper from his distributor, his distributor from EB Games, and EB Games claims: "
We were unable to find Fallout 3 on our website, so we don't offer that particular game at this time. We get all release dates from the manufacturer, EB Games/Gamestop does not dictate the release dates."
We'll put it down as an administrative error, but just for completion purposes; EB Games lists their Fallout release date as Nov 27th 2007 (apparently, they didn't confirm it either), which they claim to get from the manufacturer.

It is highly unusual for Bethsoft to even put out 'speculative' release dates. I wouldn't count on it.

There is a recent rumour of Fallout 3 being announced for the XBox 360 in Gamespot's Rumour control section (link). The end result is, as usual, bogus. The reason given is that the author only mentioned a possibility. Nothing more, nothing less.

First of all, Bethesda will NEVER provide a release date, not until it's ready to go gold. So don't even get your hopes up for Bethesda to provide one, cause it ain't gonna happen. Unless someone is able to quote a specific interview with a specific release date or delay, just assume sometime in late 2007 or sometime in 2008 until you hear otherwise.
With that said, don't be surprised if there ends up being some sort of booth or display at one of the trade shows this spring, such as E3 (although maybe not E3 since this year's event will be much smaller than last year's event). It was a surprise (to me) when they didn't show it off at E3 last year, and given the recent quote that they expect to be able to "show it off soon", and that most of their staff is now working on Fallout 3 since they're pretty much done w/ the Oblivion expansion, it would only seem logical that they would start sending out teasers within the next few months, starting with the interview in OXM.
Also, it's about time we heard something about this game, Bethesda has been keeping this one really close to the vest ever since they bought the rights to it and there hasn't been any news of any real value since the 2 "screenshots" (if you want to call them that) were released at E3 2006. I was beginning to wonder if they were ever going to get serious and actually make this game a priority, but it sounds like now they're actually getting down to business.
As for whether or not it will be a 360 game, of course it would make sense from a business perspective for them to release it on the 360, given the tremendous success they had doing the same thing with Oblivion. Hell, the interview that everyone is quoting was in a magazine dedicated to the 360. If that's not a hint, I don't know what is. But still, they haven't announced anything like that for sure yet, so my guess would be that they will probably make some sort of announcement once they decide to show off the game a little bit, probably at one of the trade shows like E3.
Here's hoping they shoot for something with gameplay in the vein of KOTOR or Mass Effect. That would provide the best blend of the SPECIAL system w/ FPS graphics, IMO. That way the people who want to pause it can do so and the people who don't want to pause it can just play right through. But even if it does actually just become "Oblivion with guns", I'm sure it will still be an excellent game. I loved Oblivion, and can't wait to see what they have in store next.
Is it too early to start speculating about TES: 5 or the Fallout 3 expansion?

I know this is an old post, but I would just like to point out that I can't wait for Bethesda to start releasing some new screenshots, not just so that I can see what the game's gonna look like, but so that people will stop doing google searches thinking they've seen screenshots from the game when actually all they saw was the Van Buren screenshots. Van Buren brings back painful memories for me, and I would just as soon forget about it.Kipi wrote:Probably davidw89 has seen the pictures of "Van Buren"...
