******* FAQ *******

Problem:
I get "The application failed to intialize properly (0xc0000135)" when I run the program! Grrrr...

Resolution:
According to an article at forums.microsoft.com this is due to the fact that your .NET framework is out of date or non existent which is a optional software updates on windows update or download the redistributable installations at .NET framework V2.0 from Microsoft diretly. Let me know how it works for you. I have not tested it as I have the most recent version of the framework.

Problem:
How do I know if this file contains a virus?!@ AKA How do I know if I can trust you?

Resolution:
Actually, you don't know and you shouldn't trust anyone on their word alone. Sorry that I can't reassure you more than that, however I can recommend that the best virus scanner on the market is Kaspersky Anti Virus! I also recommend that you test any files that you download with Kaspersky's free online scanner even if you don't by it. I am not affiliated with Kaspersky in any way, form or shape. I have just gone through all the frustrations of virus issues myself and found only one to protect my computers completely.

******* ORIGINAL POST *******

Hey Everybody,
I'm new to the Dungeon Lord forum, but I guess this game is as addicting to everybody else as it has been to me. I was bored over the weekend and decided to write my own game editor. There is already a very good one out there, but I figured what the heck. Let me know what you think of it.

You'll see that there are several new features that are in the works like quests and heraldry manipulation. The Items portion does not yet allow you to modify items, but that will be coming next. It does parse all of the items in your inventory and allow you to sort it as you do in the game. I could use some assistance with this part...There are several items on the item list that is floating around that I haven't been able to categorize. If anyone has the time, then feel free to take a look at the excel file with my notes and message me with any incorrect categories.

Thanks,
Steve

I don't have CE. If you don't mind sending me one of your older .sav files, I'm sure that the posotioning of the values is only a little different. Private message me and I can update it for CE version for you. Thanks for the feedback. Sorry about that.

Also tried it in the DL directory and Save directory, using v1.4.

Just a note: If you download and execute a file posted by a guy with 3 posts, you're doing so at your own risk.

Thanks for reminding us.

I worried about that after I got the error, doh!
No problems system wise, I run Zone Alarm SS, which will not allow any dangerous action, like high level funtions without my permission, they have to ask to run/execute, so far it has worked well.

Yeah, he's actually very right...It doesn't have a virus, better safe than sorry. What version of the game are you running? Collectors Edition seems to have a problem thus far. I went out and bought it today so that I can see if I can fix the compatibility problem with the new version. The program has worked flawlessly on V1.3/4 of base version. Thanks for the feedback.

As I mentioned in my first post where I detailed the error I got, I am using 1.4, so I guess some conflict still exist in 1.4.

I just downloaded the second version of the other editor, but yet to try it, have been trying to help test the Bloodlines 2.1a patch.

I have not had problems with the first editor, so I am not sure what could be the cause of the error , or even what it means.
It is a clean install with the full 1.4 version patch, no patch steping as in patch to 1.1 then 1.3 and finally to 1.4, I used the single patch 140 meg.

If you think of something you want me to try let me know.

Unhappy

I DO NOT understand why nobody can program a universal trainer or editor for DL saves from version 1.0 to 1.5!

I've checked all versions of saves and all information is after the first letter in the last occurence of character name. I'm talking about character stats, exp, gold, and the skills. They're all the same number of spaces after the last character name. So what's the big deal?

Thanks for the feedback...According to an article at microsoft forums you probably do not have a compatible version of the .NET framework and/or XPSP2. Can you try updating your .NET framework to atleast 1.1. I wrote this application in Visual Studio.net. Let me know if you have any other problem and if this corrects the problem. I'll try to modify the proggie to check for the compatible version before running or something...

Thanks for the 1.5 version.

It all looks good, except for the items list. The Quantity is WAY off (I have 262403 Arindale Inn Keys?)

Hmmm, yeah you are correct. Unfortunately, there is information coded into items like the keys where you cannot have more than one anyway. I'm not sure what that information is exactely, yet. The way I wrote the item portion was to handle every item in the same fashion with the same field. I will try to customize it per item group shortly. It probably won't be updated until I add the item editing ability! Hopefully by early next week. Thanks again for the response.

Thumbs up Thanks for the feedback...

Also, your categories apper to be messed up. A "Barbed Fangtip" appears in each category, and a lot of the categories, such as potions, contain items that dont belong in them.

Your tool shows great promise. Keep up the great work!
The "item count field" for all keys is zero in the sav file. Unfortunately with the data grid stock component that I used VB.net studio, it will always display a zero. I will end up writting my own display grid for the data, if I want it to have different fields for each category. Which is probably what I should have done to begin with.

And the barbed fantip that you saw in each category would not have been there, if you had clicked off it on to say a quantity...I don't know why that data grid is so quirky and inflexible, but it was quick and easy for me

The item portion does work fine on my with the exception of the two previous mention points, but they do not affect being able to use it.

Lightbulb Great questions from another thread...

Is it possible to change physical resistance or would that be just super high armor? I'm wondering, will there be future item insertion?
Thanks for the feedback on the improvements. As far as the physical resistance, I have never seen any physical resistance listed as a stat. Until I find one, you'll have to settle for better equipment. ***Just a note*** I just located the heraldry values and spec'd out each of there corresponding bit locations. I should have the heraldry's section added very soon. Lots of neat one that I have never seen in the game too...IE The Angel = Protection from Death?!@ Not sure about it, but it a valid herald. Hope this helps.
