Jaheira Romance *SPOILERS

About 8 game days ago. after leaving the Underdark, a guy named Dermin approached my party and talked to Jaheira. To sum things up, she renounced her life as a Harper and he said he would take her words back to someone. This leads me to believe he plans on coming back. But when?

We continue to be friendly. The last thing she said to me, she ask me about my old injuries. I'm in Chapter 6, and have gone back to Athkatla to finish all the side quest. I was hoping to get the romance done while doing these side quest.

I did not want to check the threads for fear of getting to much in the way of spoilers. Can someone tell me if things are going the way they are intended, or is there a bug or something I need to know about. I ask, because I remember seeing something about a romance bug when I used to check the threads, before I stopped because of spoilers.

I have both SoA and ToB loaded and have the latest patch installed. It just seems that it's taken a long time for him to return.

If there's a thread that address this with out a lot of spoilers, let me know I'll go there, if not would appreciate any and all help.

Thanks in advance. Sonny

My trip through the game also included Jaheira and her romance. And somehow it got squirreled up in my game.

Check this out:

Sorcerer's Place - Baldur's Gate 2 Tips, Tricks & Hints (1/2)

The fourth entry from the top is "BG2: SoA Romancing Guide by Extremist". Click "Download" to initiate downloading the guide.

I used this guide to hold my hands, so to speak, through the last half of the romance. I leave no stone unturned in any game I play, and I wasn't about to miss out on the conclusion of any romance that I had already spent half the game progressing through.

This guide will tell you everything about each romance available in the vanilla game. It details what criteria initiates each romance, what would break it, and which points require certain triggers to happen before the romance continues (such as sleeping outdoor, for example). It even spells out each conversation, so you can track the progress of your romance.

Most importantly, it details what variables to check to determine if you're romance is hung up, and how to change these variables to fix it. Behind the scenes, the game keeps track of a giant list of variables, so that the game can keep track of things in your current game, like if the Jaheira romance is active, if it's time for the next romance conversation, which conversation is next, etc, etc. CLUA commands, used when you are in the game, are used to check and change these variables, if you find your game's romance is squirreled up.

This guide is obviously filled with romance spoilers, but can be minimized if you just read up to where your game's romance has progressed to. It's handy to have if you're constantly wondering if your game's romance is progressing as it should. And it's a good read if you're interested in knowing a little bit about how the game works.

Thanks CFM, that's just what I did not want to happen to me.

Great guide. I like the way you can read whats been said up to the point in your game and at least know where you stand, and the spoilers are only romance related and small ones at that.

Thanks again

Well, Dermin finally showed up (Took 12 game days) and then the next day I rested outside the Keep (party was complaining about being tired) and now Jaheira's gone and some guy showed up and gave me a note. Now I've got to go get her back.

Man this game has more twist and turns then a hand rolled soft pretzel.
IMO that's one of the things that makes it so good.

Have a feeling I'm not resting enough to make things happen. Is there a rule of thumb about how often you should rest, or does it matter.

Rest as often as you like. When I'm trying to make time pass for whatever reason, I usually travel to Watchtower Keep, rest, travel to Umar Hills, rest, travel to de'Arnise Keep, rest, rinse and repeat until timer kicks in.
