VERY annoying Yeslick bug

Post by Chrizum »

Hey, I'm new to this forum, and I have a burning question.
I am in the mines, and I took Yeslick in my party. with a couple of days wandering around, a bug appears, Yeslick keeps leaving and entering my party, leaving and entering, leaving and entering. some kind of dialogue loop. I can't stop it, all I could probably do is kill him. What do I do?

Thanks a lot in advance, I love this game, and I don't wanna lose Yeslick (I equipped him with a whopping War Hammer +2 :P )

btw, I have the 6-cd version, but TotSC is not installed. I think I have the (latest?) patch, 1.1.4315. It only happens when I get into a "waylay" fight with wyverns (when heading to the mines), or when arriving at the "mines" location. When I stroll around other places, everything's fine.

Hey Chrizum, it happoned to me too. The second time through the game. The first was fine. I noticed it did not stop untill I fully completed the mines quest. Sucked bad. I think I dropped him then picked him up after.

Hey, I had the same problem some time ago, and it really was annoying. I had picked up Coran and Yeslick at the Cloakwood forest, and I wanted to visit Beregost first, before cleaning the mine, to deliver the wyvern heads. First Yeslick gave a warning, after about 5 days, that he wants to go back to drown the mine. Then after 5 days more, he left my party, inmeditately joined, left it, joined it etc. etc. Very annoying.
So what I did was, that I loaded a previous game and waited as long as possible with him giving me the first warning. You can do that, just by giving him orders all the time, so that he can't walk up to you to complain. Then, at the entrance of the mine, I let him give the warning, which gave me 5 days untill he would give the second warning so I could easily clear the mine, without giving him direct orders all the time.

Though you could also decide just to drop him off somewhere, and clearing the mines without him, if that's okay with you. Just make sure that you still have a save game where he wasn't going all nutty yet, so that you can always back-up on that one, in case things doesn't work out. You never know.

Thanks a lot! I dropped Montaron somewhere in the mines (with good hope he cold swim) but I think I'll take him with me for the mines, to join up with Yeslick after. So when the mines are completed, he stops being annoying? great :)
Again, thanks. I'm off playing ;)
