Craig posted yesterday teh closest a pc can come to a sorceror fighter, or sorceror thief. This is great, it still has gaming limits, but I felt he should get the credit and attention for the cheesiest dual I've ever heard of, except the wizard slayer thief combo.

Its still not perfect, of course. a simple perusal of the manual tells you that optimally you should go for around level 20 or 29, dual to second class... if you go lower, this makes combat duration chain contingency very difficult...cast nrd and chooose chain contingency and find out you have no memorized spells worthy of chaining...I also suspect the class is much more evil than I originally thought....in wild magic rooms in watchers keep, chains and triggers work fine. so if you can pre combat prep your chains and triggers, they should owrk just fine, without danger of wild surge. this class more than any other should have all sequenceers and triggers ready and set at all times. actually, let me take that back about the level. dual when you have your first or second level 8 slot...if you can live without planetars, this is optimal since you can still use nrd to cast chain contingency...and use this as a mini timestop. but if you want the quest level spells but also dual earlier, to get good stats for fighter or thief or even cleric, use shadow keeper to hack in.

here is a question, craig...if you dual to cleric, all your cleric spells are not affected by wild surges, right? The sorceror cleric...evil.

WAY TO GO CRAIG!

Phewwww. LIMBERGER!!

You people always trying to wreck the game.
IT would be Gandalf!
Craig, see if you can rig up a paladin/ranger, if you could to that, you would be a king among men,
congrats on the chaos and cheese
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

Knight, weren't you the one who objected to my plan of giving holy avenger to wittle gnome jan???

I love cheese, i think that is the major appeal of the game... I tend to buy a game on the basis of how imaginative the cheats available are... hee hee!!!!

Bg2 is my favorite game becasue of the really cheesy spells...

for example, the nortorious feeblemind on a blue circle char makes feeble mind one of my fav sells!!!

anyway, this dual has some of the advantages of a sorc, but not all... and it has a certain element of risk involved played legally. course, you can use cntrl h to get wild surges stable and predictable, but thats a little too much. this is not too diff than afighter wiz dual, you still have to plan out and memorize spells, but the wild mage perk allows you to in an emergency, act like a sorc and cast any spells you have. this class really requires a lot of knowledge of magic to use. and while it is more powerful than the standard mage fighter dual or multi, it is not supremely over powered... it is less power ful class wise than the wizard slayer thief combo. It should be fun to play, and after i finish playing thru soa and tob, I'll need a new challenge...

i might put together a party of

wildmage thief

or wildmage fighter

or cheesiest of all, wildmage cleric!

put alll three in a party, and you have something,

not sure what, tho...

The wizard slayer who dual classes to a wizard is a quite funny, though rather useless dual class combination. :)
