It's also possible that you're unable to rest because certain non-instant area spells (eg Cloudkill) are still active nearby.

Grishnakh, half orc cleric / thief, named after the vicious orc who tried to kill Merry and Pippin to get the ring from them in LOTR (second part).

Hehe, I guess even Korgan respects him.

Believe it or not, the first time I faced the Shadow Dragon I managed to disintegrate him without using lower resistance or any other spell that would increase the chance to do it.

That's what I call a lucky strike ...

Summon (dark) planetar is a great spell, but it's lvl 10, so it may don't count. The planetar's own spell collection is already worth casting the spell, not to mention it's fighting abilities.

To prevent this from happening: 1) Don't leave the tavern at night. 2) Pay the 15,000 gold to the shadow thieves and visit their leader, he has something to give you. 3) As already mentioned, use negative plane protection if you leave at night. Be careful anyway, it wears off quick. To cure the caus...

I believe Gandalfs power to far in excess of lvl 12. He is among the most powerful beings in all middle earth, standing behind Sauron, Elrond and that about raps it up Uhm .. I disagree (while going for page 4). I don't think that Gandalf stands behind Elrond, what Gandalf is is best described as a...

(Spoiler) The above mentioned lich is indeed easy if you manage survive his meteor storm. He will gate in a Pit Fiend and let's say - hypothetically of course - that you are protected from evil and he is not. Guess who's killed? One more thing, don't leave the room while the fiends's alive because h...

My Cleric/Thief started to get high level abilities when the XP sum for both classes reached the amount of XP needed in a single class (between 3 and 3,3 million). This is probably a bug, the program seems to calculate the point when you get high level abilities using the total XP amount, no matter ...

Wow, this is a nice thread! Well, I've read the books several times and these would be my points: - Aragorn is 99% ranger, I think the AD@D class could even be taken from his model. Altough I'd like to see him having the lay-on-hands ability because the book says "the hands of the king are healing h...

In my actual game I tried it with a lvl 13-14 party (which consists of 3 members only, Korgan being the only fighter). The first two levels went fine, but in the third I was simply too weak (especially to deal with the Baatezu and the Thiefling party). You should go there soon anyway, because some g...

My old character was a good at melee, he was a lvl 16 human fighter (+++++ long sword / +++ dual wielding) dual classed to mage.

With Tenser's Transformation as the final battle preparation spell he had far more than 300 HP.

I agree, pure fighters rule, so take Sarevok. I don't think that Sarevok rivals Korgan (if Korgan is using a *certain* hammer and is upgraded to grand mastery in war hammers) but he's great. BTW, Mazzy's worth a try too, since there a lots of strenght increasing items in TOB and a very nice short sw...

Hehe, I did it (Sarevok)

I always thougt that BG II lacks fighter/thieves (with Coran from BG I not available). So, initially after getting Sarevok I dual-classed him into a thief. Right now I'm in Yara Shura's lair (level 1) and he's the last 1 level away from surpassing his fighter class level, which is 17. This is gonna ...
