One thing i found with pulling is that if you shoot an arrow or something at it , there is a much greater chance that the surrounding monsters will come. If you just let the sight of you aggro the monster then only it will come. Hope that helps.

@userfriendly

I thought this thread was discussing the merits of the two characters, so my comment about the skells was just to say that the cleric/mage gets them but the sorcerer doesnt.

Magic is so cheezy....

Haveing played through the game numerous times but never really utilizeing the magic spells beyond breach and haste, i decided to try a fighter/mage solo. It did take long to realize how easy it is to take advantage of the game mechanics. As an example , if you cast mislead before you enter a battle...

@Arcane

Clerics of 15th lvl or higher can summon the skeleton warriors with the 3rd lvl animate dead, these are one of the best summons short of plantars and the like IMO at least.

One thing to keep in mind is that the monk is designed to be the best at "dealing damage", they can stand behind another tank and still hit. They arnt necessarily the best "tank" but they are the best at doing damage. There arnt really any weapons that compare to the monks fists +4 , 1-20 damage , a...

For straight melee i like the Monk , love the big damage output at higher levels, hide in shadows and the inate abilities. For a Duel class i like the ranger/cleric , you get all the cleric and all the druid spells, with long lasting spells like rightous magic even a ranger dueled to cleric early is...

The monk is designed to be a very powerful top end character , the cost of this is being weaker than average before you attain high levels.

At 20+ the monk dishes more damage than any other melee character , has great magic resistance , AC as well as several extremely handy abilities.

The other way out is via Seamon Havarian , this is also the only way to get to the Sahaugin City.

Hit your special abilities button (bottom right of main screen , looks like a star) , there should be a icon of a man there , hit that and your back to normal.

@Thrar

You can click on your weapon then click on the chest to attempt to force it open. The higher your strength the better your chance.

As for traps, you avoid what you can (most solo'ers have been through a time or two) or you eat em.

After much thought on this subject , i went with the F/M multi, for a few reasons. First with the multi there is no "down period" where your at a very low lvl and anything you try is tough (my decision was based on solo play). Second i tend to me more of a melee guy, so i do like getting the high lv...

The problem with quivering palm , is that it weakens as your enemies get stronger due to the saveing throw against it. In ToB that are alot of things just immune to it.

I completed all of SoA and ToB with a ranger/cleric dualclass (dueled at 8). Melissan took about 30 tries, but that was by far the toughest battle.

@Gaxx Not like diablo2, more like Everquest. In everquest there is a respawn time after you kill a monster , either the same monster can spawn in that spot next time , or it could be a rare monster . The rare monster can have a variety of diff items it can drop, so it might take a while for you to g...

I personally think archers rock , and if you buy the firetooth crossbow , youll rarely see the message "your weapon is ineffective"

Id like to see random drops off the boss mobs (so you cant always count on the same item). Dungeons that respawn after a certian time, with a wide range of what monsters will spawn in , and what items they drop , with there being common items , and rare items off rare spawns. I feel this would add n...

Go to watchers keep , initiate the dialog and get to the point when you can enter the dungeon. The merchant there sells a +4 shortsword that your monk can use. As far as the celest fury or the scarlet thing, i cant see why you would use either, the monk does FAR more damage useing his fists, as well...

A fallen paladin is nothing more than a sub-par fighter, IMO you really dont have a choice here. Also when you do watchers keep youll recover the lost point of dex.
