problems with vista

I recently installed planescape torment on my laptop running vista. The first time
I used the game it would ask me to insert disc 2 into drive E and then would run.
Later when I would try to play agiain it would ask me to insert disk 2 into drive C:. I tried deleating and re-installing a few times but I had the same problem on every install. I also tried running the game in xp compatibility and win200 compatibility but neither fixed the problem.
I searched the forms and found a tread where someone had the same problem and fixed it with a full install. Thats what I'm trying to do now but after I change the paths in my Torment.ini file I cant save the changes. I think the file is read/excute only but I'm not sure how to change it?
Any advice would be appreciated.
