So I JUST started the game, and I was wanting to use the Assassin's kiss skill in a underhanded warrior character. However, I don't want to use nothing but daggers. I read somewhere that you can also backstab with short swords, and I would be fine with using those. Is this true? Are there other weapons that can backstab?

Maybe some swords yes. I believe it will say in the item description if the sword is capable of performing Assassin's Kiss.
