i am playing oblivion for the first time on pc an i tried to use the cheats to get money an a sword i wanted but when i press additem an th code like it says its dose not work is there something im missing or for getting to add if someone could plz tell me how i sould put it in every step i would really thank you..plz help anyone

After you bring up the console (press the ~ key) the correct syntax to add an item is:

player.additem code count

replace code with the item code you want and count with how many you want.
