I agree. I have mentioned petrol prices many a time on this board. In the UK there is no 'Shell' though - bought out by BP... :)

Shell is marktleider, if they change there gas price, all brands change theire price.

They are a bunsh of piiieep(ony the really top bosses) , they say that prices are because of say the government but prices are high because they want it to be.

The idiots in the EC. They decided to move between Brussels and Strassburg every now and then. It's costing way too much money.

Further that damn dutch concession politics. Never daring to step up to the plate and taking a swing at a politically incorrect project (legalizing soft drugs for example).

Furthermore the fact that so little countries in Europe posses citizens that speak anything but their own language. Try English in France or Germany, well good luck...

And .....(way too little space here)

O, btw I'm Dutch :D :D :D

Hmmm, but why should everyone speak English? Isn't it kind of arrogant of the English-speaking world to not bother even trying to learn other languages, because people assume everyone else will speak English?

Legalizing soft drugs... Well, it does seem kind of pointless to me that pot is still illegal when it is so readily available. Legalizing it wouldn't make everyone potheads, because anyone who wants it can get it anyway...

The French will love you, Georgi. :D

The thing I don't like about Europe... Well, I don't like people bracket whole Europe into one at any subject. "Europe is this", or "People in Europe do that" makes me mad! France, England, Italy, Germany, they are all different culture and history with something common being in Europe. It doesn't mean everthing has to be categorized as "Europe" or "European".

Ummm, maybe until they hear me trying to speak French... then they'll be begging me to just speak English :D ;)

I agree, there's too much variation within Europe to generalize about it.

I guess it's really hard to visualize an entire continent filled with diverse cultures as something to be mad at. Might as well say, "What do you find makes you mad about the Americas?" Now, if you said, "What makes you angry about the Germans?" or the French, or the Brits, or the Finns (who must buy a license to get stinking drunk whenever they leave their homeland), well... ;)

I agree with Fable and Minerva, it's almost impossible to answer what makes me mad about Europe, since the countries are so heterogenous.

I agree with Tom that most countries should spend more on both 3rd world help and research, but for countries like Albania (Europes poorest country) it's of course impossible.

Something about the EU that makes me really angry, is the recent idea that asylum seekers to EU countries, should not be able to seek asylum in another EU country if they have been rejected by one. This is outrageous  As you might know, people from Afghanistan is currently the world's largest group of refugees. About 2 million people have fled from the Taliban dictatorship. 50 000 Afghanistanians have applied for asylum in Sweden, and not a single person has got asylum here! Why is this? Because they didn't have their papers in order! Now, do you expect people who have fled head over heels from war zones and totalitarian systems to have their papers in order? Many of them has never had a passport in their life! Luckily, people who are rejected by Swedish bureucracy can still seek asylum in other EU countries, but I would hate if in the future, a common asylum is introduced.
