Old age comes to us all

What would you like to do when and if you reach old age? Old enough to retire from work?
I think I'd like to get a little house in the North West Scottish highland, do as much hiking and maybe sailing as my physical health would allow, and also read all the books about all those things I'm interested in that I had to abandon because of my present career choice. Physics, philosophy, lingustics, history...ahh, I can hardly wait

I wouldn't mind retiring in Switzerland somewhere actually. Either that or Canada. Failing that, there is of course a place down here in Australia called the Pemberton, with dense Kari forests and beautiful trout filled lakes... ah... I can see it already

So, how would you like to spend your days, Veh?

Not knowing what the next day will bring.

At this point in my life, I couldn't really precisely say what I'd like to be doing, but as long as it's something that's always involving and forever occupying, I'd say that'd be pretty nice

At this point, I suspect I'd like to own a house in the Boston environs (for all the cultural activities, and the absence of American religious mania), or on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, near the ocean.

Ruling the world.......took so long to conquer it after all.
Actually I'd just like to live to REACH old age.

Some days, I already feel like I've reached old age. Why do they call them the Golden Years, anyway? They look kinda gray to me.... I'd like to retire in the mountains, near (but not too near) a small community for neighbors. I would spend my days hiking and experimenting with hobbies that I don't have time for now: building things, art, writing. I always envision the Colorado Rockies as the place I want to go, but I suspect deep down that 'you can't go home again' and I would find Colorado too crowded and cheesy. Therefore, I'll be looking for a place next door to CE's place in Scotland!

Why wait until your old before you start doing all those things? Do it now! You may not even reach old age.
Seize the day

Wow, more good advice from Vehemence.
I might follow that advice better if I weren't so shy.

I'd probably get into a midlife crisis (again), buy a 1967 mustang, dump my wife and go driving around the world.
You know, this doesn't sound so bad...
