What does it all mean?

Please forgive a newbie for his ignorance, but what do things like LOL and IMHO mean in peoples posts, I don't want to use them incorrectly. Thanks!

IMHO - in my humble opinion
If you wait a few minutes BTW (by the way), some smart-alec will post a link to a list of abbreviations.
