lost siamese twins skulls

I started the quest for the siamese twins skulls and had them. Talked to the guy in Tarant and when I got to Calderon, they were gone!!! I can't continue the quest without them. Any suggestions???

I think the phrenologist in Tarant has kept the skulls, you could go back and search him/pickpocket him.

Don't trust anyone with quest items when on this case.

If you really lost them, there's a savegame editor around, which you can use to give them back to yourself. I found it on terra-arcanum.
