It's a good game, different from BG2 though. It's more of a traditional dungeon crawl, you make up all 6 characters. There's limited npc interaction and the story is very linear. The mages are easier though, no *^!@#*@ time stop spells

The expansion pack should improve the game immensely. It's going to raise the xp cap and give druids more powers which increases replay value.I like to play it when I'm not in the mood to deal with all BG2s npc quests and whining.

Hi,
IWD was made between BG and BG2, thus it is cannot compare directly with BG or BG2. IWD does not have those special classes and kits in BG2. In addition, it does not support dual-wield. But it does have lots of magical stuffs and the system is much better than BG in terms of background sound etc.
