I know very little about D&D, learning slowly.
I've gotten as far as the first wraith and all of my weapons are ineffective. What do I do now?

You need a +1 or better weapon to hit and you'll still miss 50% of the time with a, "weapon ineffective" message.

Even better, use Magic Missiles (and some sorc cantrip whose name I don't recall) to waste 'em. Be sure your attackers have Protection Against Evil going, too. It helps a great deal.

all very good suggestions. also, have your cleric "Bless" your party. it is a group spell and helps a lot in all different situations. try to keep it going at all times.
"Protection from Evil" is great, too, but defensive.

in addition to magic missile, if you have the cone of cold scrolls or wand yet, position your group very carefully (to the sides or behind the person using it) and blast it with that. that is a one shot stopper!
::smiles:: or as my bf calls it "Wraith-Away"!

don't worry. the first couple of them seem unbeatable. but with a little practice, they can be dealt with easily.
