This is my first char build in the game. I started with a Human (lawful evil) and have built upon the Fighter class. LVL12 currently. I want to dual class now and am not quite sure what would be the best path. I would like something a little different from the norm - fighter/weaponmaster. Any suggestions??

Try Fighter 9/Bard 1/Red Dragon Disciple 10. It has pretty insane strength stats. If you were a Dwarf, the you could have gone Fighter 4/Bard 1/RDD 10/Dwarven Defender 5. Best killer/tanker in the OC.

Frenzied Berserker is a good prestige class if you use 2 handed weapons. You get a bonus to the damage the power/improved power attacks do and the penalty to attack doesn't go up just the bonus. That attack is great for high str 2 hander (which does more on power attacks bc 2 hands). You also get free toughness and supreme cleave which means that if your great cleaves get done you get an extra great cleave action that round.

You also get frenzy which adds 1 attack at high BAB but you take damage while raging (differences from barbarian). There is a cap on strength bonus unfortunately (rage + items).

If you take Barb AND FB then extra rage and extended rage will apply to the base pools of both frenzy and rage. So loads of raging when needed.

FB requires great cleave and maybe something else - check it
Barb is another base class.

I might do Fighter12FB5Barb2Rogue1* - The rogue is for some flanking damage and you can take tumble 20 (removes the cross class cap)

*take duelist if you can qualify (feats) and only if you really want to keep 20 BAB (duelist gives tumble too)

Just my thoughts.

EDIT: ok I worked up this build for fun. I took Rogue 2 instead for evasion (and you can take expose weakness now in epic levels..Ev is a prerequ for that)

STR 22
DEX 14
CON 16
INT 14

BAB 19

AB (mundane Greatsword): - 27,22,17,12

* +5 Greatsword adds 5 AB
* Frenzy adds 6 STR for 3 AB
* Rage adds
* Power Attack reduces AB by 3
* Improved Power Attack reduces AB by 6
* Frenzy adds another attack at high AB

Damage(mundane Greatsword): 13 + 2d6

* +5 Greatsword adds 5 damage
* Frenzy adds 6 STR for 4 damage (I am counting 2 hands but somewhat dependent on other STR gear)
* Rage adds 4 STR for 3 damage (I did not observe stacking of rage frenzy with current patch)
* Power Attack adds 10 damage
* Improved Power Attack adds 20 damage (not stacking with Power Attack)

NOTE: This character benefits immensely damage wise from the power attacks. He will use them to oneshot all but the most armored (or HP big). It will be better to miss a few times than reduce damage and cleaves.

AC (mundane Fullplate) - 21
(mithril Fullplate +5, DEX +2 item, Deflection Ring +5, Amulet Natural Armor +5) - 37

If your going epic (on my build) take 10 more fighter levels with nice feats and switch the knockdown feats for lightning reflexes/iron will then take the epic save feats...
