Isn't there supposed to be children in the game? for some reason there are non in my game

You've got the European version of the game. The children were apparently removed so the player couldn't be able to kill them, which ended in wierd situations such as seeing floating text coming out of nowhere or being robbed in the Den by invisible kids. Here's a patch that puts children back in the game.
