I have heard a lot about certain patches going around and read some details on the gamebanshee.com site. I was wondering if any of them would help me with the following problem.

I have made it all the way to the lower keep and am in the battle with the arracat den. It all happens the same way every time I go into battle. I go about 5 rounds into battle kicking arracat butt when the game completely crashes. To see if it was a fluke I tried it about 6 times in a row and the same thing happened every time.

Is there any hope?

I have a similar problem. The game has just completely crashed on me before but never in the same place consistently. I have a game saved the the Prisons of the Catacombs in the room next to the sarcophagus that emits that blue-green light. And every time I load the game now it crashes, and my auto save is at the beginning of the level and I've already cleard almost the whole thing. If there's a patch for this someone lemme know please.

Have you installed all 3 patches for the game? I think it will solve all the problem. I used to crash all the time but have no problem after the 1.3 patch. May also be useful to update your graphics driver to the latest version.

As I posted elsewhere many of these crashes appear to relate to mp files which get created on some saves. Delete the files in the /roster/mp directory and the problem goes away.

I was saving a game once and had a similar situation. It was taking some time to savew when the whole thing crashed. I went to put in the saved game and when it was loaded all it showed was the save game screen. I was hot! Good thing I had just gone down some stairs and the AutoSave helped me out. This thing makes you want to throw the computer out the window.

There is a known bug that corrupts the save games. The patches sort it out
