I did not do a search or read the walkthrough in case it "spoils" the quest.

From what I know, you get about half through quests and the rest are on innocent NPC's ?
Are there tips to who has them, or do you/I have to go on a random killing spree.

I'd rather not look at who has them, but killing everyone in the game seems dicey
How do you play it ... or just forget this quest

I feel as if I have to kill just about everyone, check their body and/or reload if I find nothing ... is it really that "open" of a quest ?

I'm only doing Blades + Morag Tong ... don't want to kill someone needed in any other quest
This playthrough will just be one big bloodbath

Most of these items are found doing the Morag Tong Quests...
the rest are scattered throughout the game in various places and on various NPC's......
I myself have looked at the walkthrough and decided not to pursue the quest for these items...yes there are some on NPC's that might affect other quests in the game....if you do decide to finish it, I recommend waiting till all the Morag Tong's
other quests are finished and quite a bit of the main quest...

I figured as much; wasn't sure.
Why I'm only doing Blades + Morag Tong.

I might have to fudge a bit = maybe find the cities where they are(... non-Tong quest locations)
Otherwise, I'll need to wipe out the entire population
