K! I didn't click a link that is the essence of an entire thread and I didn't watch a video as you commanded, now what?

Dude, they failed THAT requirement? That's hard to fail man, actually really hard to fail to be funnier than Conan O'brian.

And in this thread we can see a clever use of reverse-psychology from forum member "MoMoRrrr".

which still has yet to work on me. Though, not because I'm a nonconformist but rather I didn't exactly care to see my kind being made fun of for enjoying a game even a little too much. If football fans can get naked and paint there entire body with colors that match there favored team and wear a giant afro of some sort, then what's so different about a nerd wearing a cape and holding a fake sword?

I didn't find this even remotely funny. Not because I got offended or anything (God forbid), but because it was just plain stupid. A reporter tries to be funny by asking some random DnD fans 'provocative' questions. The best thing is that he's the one who turned out to be an idiot. He oughta try and find someone on his own intellectual level next time, these guys are way too advanced for him, it seems. Way to go, dumbass.

Football fans don't take themselves as seriously, but in the interest of fairness I have to admit they look pretty ridiculous too

Good for a laugh or two but nothing great. I'm going to the GC today so yeah, I guess I'm a nerd with humor

I am going to jump straight on the bandwagon, I'm not going to disagree with anyone here, because, god forbid, I wouldn't want to be a troll.
I really think it wasn't very good, some people might have been offended by it.

Football fans appear on *censor-insert beer company* commercials with attractive females. Never seen a guy with a fake sword on a *censor-insert beer company* commercial.

Oh, you're not a troll. You're a bunny rabbit.
I thought this was pretty funny until horror overwhelmed me. I try to ration my exposure to empty-headed people living in fantasy worlds, whether in their fandoms or in government.

But... but... it wasn't that funny

Making fun of people who're dressed in wizard robes is just so
easy, I felt completely underwhelmed by the amount of ridicule. It's like they were shooting fish in a barrel and still missing.
Oh, and you're going against the bandwagon and are therefore a troll

Well, yes, and that's why I only found it amusing for a few seconds. The lack of wit quickly paled, to be replaced by a strong tendency to imitate Edvard Munch's The Scream.

Well, only if I can be one on alternate Thursdays. Between 1 and 2 PM. I'm too busy, otherwise.

That was the funniest thing I have seen in the last two days.
The thing that hapened two days ago was watching someone run strait into an electric fence that they did not see but do not worry no one got hurt

I'm not a nerd without a sense of humor, so I went ahead and watched the video that MoMoRrrr linked to. I agree with the consensus--it wasn't funny, at least not to any nerd who has a sense of humor. (It might be funny to a dumb jock, but that's not what we're discussing here.) I would also add that it was just plain lame--no bite, no sting, just total ineptitude when it comes to ridicule.
I know that Siberys and Fable and others have seen the video of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog interacting with a bunch of Star Wars fans who were waiting in line to see Attack of the Clones. That video is a great example of "how it's done". The thing is, Robert Smigel himself is a nerd, and that's probably the main reason why he did such a great job.

An excuse for this thread
Let's pretend the other link didn't happen..
Triumph vs Star Wars Geeks
Except for Syberis, fable and VonDondu, because for you guys the above link shows nothing new and you are therefor stuck with the easy nerdbashing that the guys of the christian-jock&denying-dorks website dared to record AND upload to the internet, which to me seems like a form of self-ridicule in which the reporters, ironically, like their report subject, take themselves too seriously disabling their ability to see how ridiculous they themselves are.....
I'm looking forward to Maxim Online's special reports on Bush, philosophers and crazy people. It'll be hilarious.
"Heehee, look, he drools and rocks back and forth on his chair all the time."
