Question about Plug-ins

I see there are a couple of plug-ins I can download for the 360 version of Oblivion. i also notice that they are recommended for certain characters (vile lair is evil characters etc) if it worth playing the plug-ins if i'm not evil, or a mage, or whatever else the plug-ins are designed for?
