What's a good mp tank build?

I'm going to start an mp game with my friends soon and i'm trying to decide on a class.
I need some sort of tank, maybe with healing. I'd like to hear some good ideas, I'm sure someone can suggest something interesting and unique to me.
Of course I could always go with pure cleric or paladin, but I've done that... just trying to find something new and exciting.

Not too familiar with the whole system yet. Still fooling around with the OC.
Depending on what you're looking for, how about something more agile?
The parry system in NWN2 would allow you to make a good bard/rogue duelist with evasion. Parry would allow you to "tank" in certain manner and high DEX and evasion also make you good against reflex save spells. Light armour would still allow for good AC with high DEX and your hit points should still be pretty decent being combat focused.
You'll be less damage focused relying on your party to deal more damage, but you should be able to "tank" well enough.

Hm. that's an interesting idea, but I think that build will be eaten by spells. i'm rusty overall on the d&d rules, but i've never been a fan of dex based fighters

Clerics can get monstrous AB and AC! There are recently some good cleric builds posted on the bioware builders guild. Try there. I found it by googling epic character builds neverwinter nights and then theres a link to the NWN1 builders guild (which has a link to NWN2 guild).

I loved playing a battle cleric. I might play a more team-oriented one, but I'm just looking for something new to play.
what do you mean by the builders guild? On the forums right? I see "Builders" stuff there but it's like for content making

Not sure about builder's guild, but I'm sure there are threads on the NWN2 boards on builds for various chars on the forums.
The battle cleric is a pretty common enough build, and I was simply suggesting something totally different from that as you requested. Plus, it just so happened that I was playing around with the idea of a halfing fighter4/rogue2/duelist5... not sure where to go from there. Still not confirmed with the above class and levels.
2 Rogue levels for the Evasion, and up with 4 Fighter levels in between for earliest possible entry into Duelist, "cheating" the skill requirements from a Rogue level at character level 7. Going for dual shortsword weilding to gain the bonus damage from the 5th Duelist level and relying on magical/elemental damage to overcome DR in general and finesse to for greater number of hits to stack up damage.
And really. If you can get Evasion, I doubt a rogue/duelist should not get eaten by spells. It would be pretty competent against fort saves and better in reflex saves. It would have some problem on the will part, but then again, something's gotta be given up. However, mind spell immunity/resistant items should help.

google Neverwinter Nights Builds.
You will find one sight with about 20 NWN1 ultimate builds. There is a link at the bottom to the NWN1 builders guild. It will tell you you have to register first. So register. Now check out the guild. They also have a link to the NWN2 builders guild.
There are some excellent builds including clerics.

Half Orc - Barbarian(4)/Bard(1)/Dragon Disciple(10)/Frenzied Bezerker(5)
Lots and lots of strength, and ... more strength. Lets figure it out -
19 base + 5 levels + 8 dragon = 32 base strength
+ 8 items + 4 barbarian rage + 6 bezerker rage = 50 strength
Using a two handed weapon and that translates to + 20 to hit and + 30 damage or + 50 damage with improved power attack (enhanced by bezerker). Some other cool points, the Extra Rage feat gives you 4 more rages, two each for barb and bezerker. Every class but bard uses d12 hit dice giving you almost maximal hit points (that increases when using barb rage).
And a bard can HEAL!!?...
about a dozen hp - oh well
Feel free to sub out the bard for sorceror if you feel like another +20 to hit (true strike).

Have you tested if the two types of rages stats stack? I doubt they do for some reason but it would still be a smooth character. You wouldn't even need 19 starting str since you would have so high that you could put in con to make rages last longer and dex, charisma (for your few bard spell), and no negative wis for saves.
sorceror can also cast enlarge so you can knock down dragons haha

The rages absolutly DO stack. Also cast the barbarian one first - its con bonus makes the other frenzy last longer also.
The decision between bard and sorceror is not that big a deal. The character will still lop heads off. The good thing about the bard is you get +1 to hit and damage 24/7. I tried the sorceror and found its spells wore off VERY fast. At least the true strike last just as long as if a lv20 sorceror cast it

- 10 seconds -

Another tiny difference, you need 11 charisma to cast a sorceror's spells, but the bard only needs 10 charisma for cantrips. I think you can even leave charisma at 6 if you only care about the bard song.
I believe you can start with 19 strength and manage 16 consitution with this build. Your character will just be really really stupid, but for multi-player that doesn't hurt anything.

Yes, you do need CHA 11 for the level 1 spells, but CHA 10 will still net you the cantrips, if you can actually find a use for them. The main problem with the short duration is because of the extremely low level you have for the class.
Neither sorcerer nor bard should net you a BAB +1 at one level.
A 19 STR is... not optimal. You can play with slightly less STR and gain the rest through magic, really. The +4 points you pay for the 19 from 18 is too steep for me to even consider.
But... if that's what rocks your boat...
