Act III bug/problem (maybe spoilers)

After defeating the 3rd reaver and snatching the tomb from him i'm having a problem getting aldannon to aknowledge i have it, i have my main holding it and i assume all i'm supposed to do is talk to him, i ask him about the vale and he just keeps saying the tome is probly on one of the shadow reavers. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The only way I got Aldanon to recognize I had the Tome of Illtkazar was when I had Grobnar in the party during the defeat of the shadow reaver. Then Grobnar would inform Aldanon for you.
Otherwise, you could wait until the final mission. Right after holding your keep against the onslaught of the KOS's army, Aldanon would automatically recognize you have the Tome and send you into the Vale of Merdelain.
If he had recognized you had the Tome earlier, you will recieve an additional 500 xp. Only difference.
