Im really sorry if the answer has been posted here before . I am starting to max some of my skills but am wondering if the title should change from expert to master. Im at 101 stealth but still says im Expert. Do i need to find the master trainer to achieve this. Likewise my mercantile is at 75 but when i visit the master trainer it says i have reached the maximum limit of training, but i didnt seem to do any training with her, no quest.

Little help to clear this up would be really appreciated,

Yes, when you reach a skill level of 100, it should show that you are at master status. Are your skills boosted with any enchanted items? If so, that might be why it doesn't say master.

Have you already trained 5 points since your last level up, when you talk to the mercantile trainer? I didn't know if you knew that you can only train 5 points per level.

It is your base level in a skill that determines your level of mastery in it. That is, it is the value printed in blue, not green or red. Accordingly, if you use enchantments to up your level from, say, 73 to 78 (i.e. from journeyman to expert level) you will not count as being an expert of that skill, nor will you get the skill perks (power attacks, etc.) associated with the expert level.

Each trainer has a limit to the level to which he can train you. There are only a few master trainers scattered around Cyrodiil. Finding one is considered a quest in itself. Ask around about rumours and you have a fair chance of getting tipped in the right direction.

And no, you don't really need a master trainer. You can always advance the natural way. However, if we're talking minor skills, though theoretically possible, in practice it is very hard to get to expert, let alone master. But it also depends on what specialization you chose (compat, magic, stealth).
