Artifacts/Shrines

... I stumbled upon a "good robe"
A non-mouth asked me to do a quest, did it and found a CE robe with INT/Reflect etc.
Nope, he's not getting it :-)

Which got me thinking of an earlier statement by Galrean.
The Azura Star ain't the bees kness ... he gives it away since it is the least powerful daedric artifact.

1) Hmm, you mean, some of these shrines I've been in, have talking statues ... then I have to re-hit all them again ... since I explore with no rhyme or reason, we start a N-S or E-W search(... once my questing is done = plowing through the Telvanni and Mage quests now ... Casius quests thrown in here and there)

2) Reading the "Artifacts Book" as we go along.
I have some items.
Either given to me, fought someone, found a few ?
But I see some "bees knees" weapons :-) ... the Mehrune Dagger and Daedric Crescent ... since they are at the end of the book, I'm guessing they are really good ?!
Lots of armor = useful on next character
So, my question pertains to: " does every character get a chance at all these items" ?
Do you run across some in certain House or Faction quests.
Are some so well hidden + defended as to make them "very late game" or lucky finds.

Just curious.
When I'm done questing, I expect to try and explore every cavern and tomb.
Going to search in a directional pattern ... the fun part for me ... hoping it yields some nice finds ?!
But, I don't want to get "hung up", like I did trying to find the Azura Star.
Really bugged me for days :-)
I'm assuming those uber weapons "might be so hard to find", that it best, for sake of my sanity, to stick with my enchanted wakizashi.
Just would like the "scoop" on the search for the artifacts in the book.
Are they all in Morrowind map, or in Tribunial and Bloodmoon too ?

I would do a search, but I might read where they are and how to ge them.
I like to find stuff on my own through bumbling around :-)
First though, I want to make sure they are obtainable and not so well hidden, that it would be pure luck to stumbled acorss them.

Thanks for the tips/help.
We're progressing nicely.

That sounds like "The Robe of Drake's Pride." I think you only get that quest from Master Neloth.... Though, are you Telvanni? I was under the impression it was specifically a Telvanni quest.
The Azura Star ain't the bees kness ... he gives it away since it is the least powerful daedric artifact.
Azura's Star is very helpful if you are using it to increase your Enchant skill. You can use a weapon that has some kind of soultrap spell on it, the soul will go into the star, and then you can use said soul to recharge the weapon.
Or, if you feel like a spot of power playing on occasion... Have an item enchanted with a Summon Golden Saint spell. This, combined with the Star.. and you have an unlimited supply of CE enchantments, assuming you have the cash to have them made. I usually just use the star for the former, but plenty of people employ the exploit I just mentioned as well.
the Mehrune Dagger and Daedric Crescent ... since they are at the end of the book, I'm guessing they are really good ?!
From what I recall, those items in the book are not really listed in any order of power, could be wrong though.
" does every character get a chance at all these items" ?
In most cases, yes. But there is at least one of them that you can only obtain as part of becoming head of a certain faction ;)
Are they all in Morrowind map, or in Tribunial and Bloodmoon too ?
I'm not sure about this.. since The Artifact Museum accepts some legendary items that are only available through Tribunal, I can't remember if the those I am thinking of are mentioned in the book though.

DW is mostly right but only the items listed in the books are found in morroind as the other tribunal ones etc aren't inculded.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Artifacts

THis give a rundown on pretty much all legendary and one off items (they have their own unique code) and a resonable guide to getting them.

Thanks, it's a while since I looked at that book, so I couldn't exactly remember if it would have experienced an update with the installation of Tribunal. As I said, I was getting confused because of some of the specifically Tribunal items that are accepted at the Museum.

@Joe,
Another good link to check is Game Faqs. In addition to item guides they also have a lot of really helpful information ranging from guides on Alchemy and Enchanting to various faction guides.

Thanks for the info/tips.
See some "good stuff" ... but, that will be for future characters

Yes, my faction is Telvanni.
I think the crazy wizard woman(... dress quest) also had chores ?

Good info ... my next character, if I ever finish this one was going to be Dark Elf/Assaassin/Nightblade ... House of Haluu + Tong
Noticed the "Black Hand Dagger" ! ... saves me from enchanting a daedric dagger :-)

First we see what we find with this character.
Have not found a good bow = wanted to practice for the next character ... not sure how I will do with no radius on my shots

DW: glad to see you found a uber-character :-)
Did notice your "multiplier posts" ... still not sure what you mean, but I'm making note of it
Plus, the ratcheting up of MISC skills.

Thanks for the help.
More help you give me, the more ideas you give me.

Time to put "Fast Eddie" to work ... though I'll bet he has me do most of it
I was hoping he would ask for some clothes = looks out of place vs the other mouths :-)

Main quest has me going to Sixth House = I'll bet I get corpus ... the dialogue seemed to indicate "I will be in over my head" ... since no spell or potion, guess we bumble around to find a healer ... geez. hope I don't move so slow

A bit off subject here but it may interest you.
Have you cheked out the thread about my new mod? It's aimed at telvanni and will give eddie new quests. One of which he'll ask for decent clothes.

Just a tip don't get cured of corpus until you have become a vampire.

Also a good bow is obained by doing the quest for mistress branora

I suggest actually handing the bow to the quest giver.... She gives you something *very* nice in return....

yes but you can use the bow all the way back (long trip if you go overland.)

Magelord - no, did not see the thread.
Will try and find it.
Confused as to which mods conflict + if they delete save games.

Amapadand/DW: well, we messed up.
I thought I was almost done with the Telvsnni quests.
Seems I missed the stronghold topic ... don't remember a dialogue option
Took me some time to bump into Hleran(sp?).
Never knew she was there :-)
Did hit me: "can't keep the robe".
Finished the Councilor quests ... now I gues I have to wait for the stronghold to be completed
Did not even know I was to be given one :-)
Oh well, hope I did not mess up the Telvanni questing.
Not sure when to go back to Aroyn and ask about advancement ... going to spin some days/do some Mage quests

Vampire ?
Oh god, not another wrinkle :-)
I've postponed the main questing for now.
I'm guessing by my reading, nobody likes vampires.
Then I'll need to be cured for two diseases.
Maybe I'll get lucky and not get bitten ... or maybe I have no choice ?
Not even sure where the vampires are located + if that will send me down another road to more quests.
We'll see what transpires.

If I become a vampire, I'll have to check the forum database :-)
No idea what to do ... all I've read is nobody likes them = how can I talk to anyone or continue questing :-)

Thanks for the ideas.
They sure put "alot" into this game = I seem to be in info/quest overload

It won't delete your saved games. You're at the right stage for it as well with your stronghold. In a nut shell it will expand your stronghold and the town outside quite a bit. Giving you a host of new quests. Three companions and new weapons and enemies. I think you'd like it. It requires that you think as well as just hack things to death so that the quests are more interesting and unique.

If you want to avoid becoming a vampire then do the 6th House quest, then the following Corprus Cure quest, and you'll never have to worry about becoming a vampire again.

I don't understand the fascination some people have with becoming a vampire, that's the only thing I've never done in Morrowind. Caught it once or twice, but got cured ASAP. To me the penalties outweigh the bonuses by some margin. Even my evil character didn't ant anything to do with vampires. Each to his/her own I guess.

Vampires are okay. I do it to get artefacts. (light of day and other things) I use it as the dark part of my character's life. (He only gets transformed by accident though.)

... think I'll pass on the vampire; at least with this play/character
Believe I killed some in an earlier play/redo ... not sure where they are/ what is their pupose / how to get cured
Trying to get the feel of the game + get to "exploring"
Just finished Mage quests ... nearing end of Telvanni quests

Then I can concentrate on the Main Quest and explore.

MageLord - will check the mod, plus other mods you created.
After this play, may add several mods = but will have to ask about "if they will be compatible"

Right now I'm "itching" to unlock that 100 trapped door in Vivec at the temple :-)
But, always concerned I ruin/kill the wrong character and ruin the game.
I sometimes let them hit me, just to make sure I can kill them.

Thanks for the help/info/tips.

MageLord - went to the link provided + your website.
Can't find the "link" to the mod in question.
Found the screenshot + Tel Uvirith + MageLord mods links.

Yes, would like a mod that expands my stronghold options/uses= as I'm not really sure of it's pupose :-)
Guessing, it's was put in the game as a reward, or something to look at ?

DW: ok.
Thanks for keeping me "on path" ... you can see I like to veer off course :-)

@Joe,
I'm sure you know by now that there is no real straight path in MW, but I just wanted to mention that lest you tried to break in...which might not be a good idea ;)

As far as Tel Uvirith mods go,
you'll no doubt want to try Magelord's nice-looking mod when he's done, but to tide you over I'd suggest Uvirith Inside combined with Town of Uvirith.

Or, if you prefer a smaller scale (or have already started your stronghold construction) then I'd instead recommend Thaxlldor's Uvirith Additions with Great House Stronghold Vaults, again, along with Town of Uvirith.

The basic purpose of your stronghold is as a place to store and display all of your hard won trophies.

You didn't find a link because it's not finished. I hope to have it done by September. I have half term coming up after next week so I'll get a lot done then.

... my Stronghold is done
Wish they added a guy/woman etc, but I got a Centurian who keeps runnimg into the upper level door :-)
Maybe create a "hi honey, I'm home" mod.

Yep, took two nights but I transfered all my stuff + went and stole lanterns/candlesticks/candles/bug lamps ... brighten up the place ... stole skulls and put them on the railings :-)

I like the Telvanni stronghold ... the others, I'll bet don't look so cool
When I had to whack the other stronghold people, their strongholds didn't look as nice :-)

I will wait till Magelord is finished.
By then, I should be on my 3rd character ... done most quests - Factions/Houses ... so new additions to the game will be welcome :-)
I'll need some advice on mods ... which few are best and don't conflict with each other

Thanks for the help.
