Minsc is a ranger: rangers have always 2 slots in 2 weapon style.

Maybe you could add that rangers get those two for free and are not obligated to choose them.

What is important about Minsc is his personality.
Very few of the NPCs make sense to me...
Why does Yoshi have 0 points in the one skill that sets him apart (set traps)?
Why did Nalia dual before she excelled at any one skill (parental pressure?)?
There are others but you get the point. The game can be won with any combination of PCs and NPCs. I don't try and figure out the oddities of NPCs anymore, I just have fun listening to them.

Minsc has:
2*'s in 2 handed swords
2*'s in maces
2*'s in longbows
2*'s in 2 wepons style
quite a versatile chappie(even if his choices are a bit eclectic)

O.K., I did forget that, but still, I believe a ranger starting at the level he is at the beginning of the game should have gotten 6 proficiency points total, so if the two weapon style ones came "free", shouldn't he still have 2 points in some other slot?

...So that's 8 proficiency points at the beginning of the game... Guess that answered your question, Underdog?

How gracious of you underdog. Cheers to a guy who doesn't need to argue tooth and nail about every little detail (a rarity it seems on this board).
