i have talked to the chambermaid and the girl at the tavern but Lord Davenmoor still has not given me what i need to go to Arindale....what's wrong?

Here's the main things necessary in order to leave out the west gate;

. Talk to Simon the messenger and receive a temple summons.
. Travel south to Fargrove and learn that the city has been locked up.
. Get ambushed by Scorch the goblin and enter the Fargrove sewers.
. Fight your way through the sewers and an abandoned theater to reach the interior of Fargrove.
. Visit to the Temple of the Circene. Show the temple summons to Seer Paulus and receive the Augustus sanctum key.
. Visit Seer Augustus’ sanctum and rescue Augustus from a death specter.
. Return to the Temple of the Circene and talk to Seer Paulus and the Celestine. Receive the cemetery key.
. Enter the Temple Catacombs and retrieve Galdryn’s Horn.
. Return to the Temple of the Circene and talk to the Celestine.
. Visit the Arcane Emporium and talk to Aleister. Receive Aleister’s letter.
. Visit Davenmor Castle. Show Aleister’s letter to the guards outside and inside the castle. Talk to Lord Davenmor. Go upstairs and talk to Chambermaid Sharia.
. Optional: Visit the Fargrove tavern and talk to Gileah.
. Return to Davenmor Castle (if necessary) and talk to Lord Davenmor. Receive Davenmor’s orders.
. Show the orders to the west gate guards and leave the city.

i have done everything George...up to and including talkint to the tavern girl but when i go back to Lord Davenmoor i am not getting the pass out of the city

Which version of the game are you playing? If you have an early release, then you should certainly patch it.

There is a direct link there to download the 1.0 to 1.4 patch, it is the second link I posted. It just isn't worth the aggravation to play an unpatched game.

Since you haven't gotten far into the game, you might want to consider simply starting over with a new 1.4 character.

That's why I bought the collectors edition

got the patch...it updated the current game and now i am out of Fargrove....YIPPEE...lol...thank you for your help
