sorry if this sounds like a stupid question... i usually only play sports/racing games but i bought this game yesterday for something different.

So i just closed the Oblivion gate in Kvatch, and i go back to talk to Matius, when i walk up to him the only option i get is to pickpoket him. Its the same with all the other guards there to.

This also happened earlier in the game when i went to talk to Jauffre to give him the amulet, but i went down and chatted with the person downstairs on all the available topics, went back up and i could talk to Jauffre.

I checked some walkthroughs to see if there is something im supposed to do before i talk to Matius but threre doesn't appear to be. So im not really sure if this is a glitch or if its supposed to happen, can someone help me out?

Hit the sneak button. It's the left toggle stick for Xbox 360 I think, and for PC, you can just go to keyboard controls in options to figure that one out.

When in sneak mode, it's assuming you want to pick pocket the person, not talk to them. And you'll know you're in sneak mode when rather than a simple + sign in the center of your screen is there, it's actually an eye socket sorrounding it.
