After the final battle...

Both the Versus Books strategy guide and the walkthrough in PC Gamer seem to suggest that after the Final Battle (TM), one should be able to complete all the unfinished optional quests as well. However, when I finish the battle, I am shuttled right through the final movies and credits, without being given the opportunity to continue play. Is this something buggy with my disks (I have the Collector's Edition), or are these two fine publications just lying to me? Any help would be appreciated.

They're blowing smoke up the wrong chimney. From what I've seen, you have up until you go down to the tree under Suldanesselar to finish all the subquests.

Darn. I really wanted to test-drive those nifty abilities the character gets when she places the Tears. *sigh* Guess I'll have to wait for BG3 or an expansion.

Yeah, my barbarian became near invincible and I would have looooved to have been able to go forward after that. Of course, since we can export the characters (into Neverwinter Nights) from the final save right before Irenicus comes out that'll work too.
