Familiars and levels

On all the lists I have seen the familiars stop getting powers at level twenty. Is this true that fasmiliars stop getting more powerful at level twenty? this seems weird that the eyeball continues to get powers up to level 40 and the others do not. Any comments? Anyone know if their powers do indeed contiinue to develope past twenty but it just isn't listed anywhere?

I know that the power of the unique attacks the familiars have increase after level 20. Or at least the mephits' power increase.
How else could they do 90 cold damage on hit?

What in your opinion is the strongest familiar for late in teh game epic levels? Right now I am using the pixie for thief skills, but eventually I will have so many skill points I will develope those skills. I like teh faerie dragon and pseudo dragon as far as style goes as it seems to fit with my female elf like the pixie. I wish they had given you the ability to summon familiars of your choice as you get into epic, that way I could use both ethe dragons and the faerie.
